The death of George Floyd after an interaction with the Minneapolis Police Department has rocked the world and while everyone reading this believes that an officer that put his knee in the back of Floyds neck for close to nine minutes was the cause of death, the facts and evidence are anything but that.
The Western Journal of Emergency Medicine says that Excited delirium is characterized by agitation, aggression, acute distress and sudden death, often in the pre-hospital care setting. It is typically associated with the use of drugs Subjects typically die from a heart attack and the majority of the patients die before hospital arrival.
And combined with methamphetamine, studies indicate that fentanyl has a higher chance of inducing fatal hyperthermia. And it just so happens that hyperthermia has a direct correlation with excited delirium.
Fentanyl is also unique among the opioids in its ability to cause muscle rigidity of the chest wall, diaphragm, and larynx. Known as wooden chest syndrome, its safe to say that the combination of this drug is a recipe for heart stoppage.
The American College of Emergency Physicians White Paper Report on Excited Delirium Syndrome recommends two specific responses by law enforcement if they observe signs of excited delirium.
Stating that Deescalation does not have a high likelihood of changing outcomes significantly
The subjects require physical restraint (this is because if they continue to struggle it accelerates the death) combined with emergent sedation.
Once the decision to do this has been made, action needs to be swift and efficient, and performed with all responders present when feasible.

You are welcome.
It took that long for the ambulance to arrive. He would not let them put him in the car. They tried for a long time and ended up having three men wrestle him to the ground.
I know it does not fit the narrative but I have watched the footage of them trying vainly to get him in the car.
You know, gap in the video between him walking to the car and him on the ground? Ever wonder why that footage is not shown.
Perhaps because this is a coup?
Prosecutor wins automatically? Not if there is justice.
And while the looters and thugs cry for justice while assaulting bystanders and stealing everything they can carry, Justice is not what they really want.
Death, destruction, rage and loot is what they want. Just like the last three hero thugs. I kinda think not murdering blacks over turf, bling and Hos BY blacks is a great place to start Justice.
And when they stop assaulting elderly folks on the streets of other races for sport is a good step away from racism.
Because the Black culture is the most racist culture in America by far. And the MOST injust.
Matter of opinion.
And while the looters and thugs cry for justice while assaulting bystanders and stealing everything they can carry, Justice is not what they really want.
I'm pretty sure the looters and thugs are not crying out for justice, they're just stealing everything they can get their hands on. But what does that to with Floyd's death?
And in the process kill him. Which is why they're in their present circumstances.
Perhaps because this is a coup?
Perhaps your tinfoil hat is on a tad too tight?
If I recall correctly, in the Ferguson shooting, the report written by the officer was release long before the criminal trial. Police reports are public information and cannot be withheld because of Freedom of Information.
Perhaps it is harder to get someone to understand the truth if they have invested in a lie.
How did Pelosi have the bills written to correct racial injustice and police funding she promises are ready to put on Trumps desk in response to the riots, when congress has been on vacation since long before the riots?
Why is the critical middle of the video missing in all news broadcasts?
Why are All the riots in democrat controlled cities?
Why are you so obtuse?
Indeed, why is looting, arson and murder being treated as a legal protest by the police? A couple of towns now the citizens have had to do the job the police refuse to do.
It’s a coup. After the curfew it’s pure riot.
And it is finishing off all small businesses.
How does letting small businesses be looted and burned help anything besides destroy our country?
So I see.
Why are you so obtuse?
I just don't have your imagination.
Just watch...
There was no criminal trial of that officer. The grand jury declined to indict and so did the feds.
And us too.
Ok. It’s tough to recall all the details of every incident, but I’ll defer to your memory. We’ll both keep a sharp eye out in the event those reports do surface in the near future won’t we?
Oh, I think just the opposite. The Chief is on the prosecutor’s side, and the mayor’s on the prosecutor’s side. The videos are in the hands of those two. The Mayor’s so biased that he refused to even look at the videos before firing the officers. I strongly expect they’re exculpatory.
The officer was brushed off because he was suggesting putting him on his side, which would offer no improvement on the positional asphyxia issue and would allow him to start kicking again. Face up is the dangerous position for resisting individuals.
Genetic Fallacy. Nice try.
Side position does solve the positional asphyxia issue in that it relieves the pressure on the diaphragm and
I apologize, but I do not understand your comment.
Right I think people are willing to give cops a lot of slack in situations where split second decisions are being made. But these guys had plenty of manpower and plenty of time to re-evaluate and change tactics. Once Floyd went non-responsive any rationale they did have went out the window.
