Ohh, that's gotta' leave a mark.

Haha... I said the same thing before reading your post.

Great minds... :)

I think Mattis was a great commander and Commandant of Marines.

General Mattis commanded US Central Command, but he was never Commandant of the Marine Corps.

And it’s a well-crafted tweet... the press can’t report on how scandalous firing him was without bringing up the fact Obama fired him, too.

Do you think there is much to choose from in DC?

“I think Mattis was a great commander and Commandant of Marines.”

General Mattis never served as Commandant of the Marine Corps.

He put a butthurt old NEOCON in his place.

The butthurt old NEOCON cried out into the night.

Who cares.

Ah, now the media has to figure out how to report the mistake without bringing up Obama fired him, too.

Just because he has two “allergic shiners” which are really alchohol bags under his eyes everyone thought he was a serious guy.

Mattis had a big dispute with Trump over Syria and a belief that the Kurds were going to get smoked. The media freaked for a week or two over this Syria story. Trump was right and Mattis and the media were wrong. Oddly, there are still Troops on Syria looking after the oil.

Mattis was asking for this. Mattis should have kept his trap shut, not undermine his former CIC.

No one puts baby in the corner

And no fired 4-star gets to call the CinC a “nazi” in the midst of a military operation against an entrenched and dedicated domestic enemy of the entire American pubic ..... while speaking of “ dividers”

Honestly...in a war, the generals and admirals who are successful are the ones who relieve non-performers when it is called for instead of hanging on to them.

Same in the civilian world. I went to a seminar some years ago where they asked a crowd of several thousand people “Who of you have people working for you that you would fire immediately if you could.

It was a sea of hands. Nearly everyone. And you can bet a lot of those people hired those same people. The person talked about how to get rid of non-performers.

There is no doubt President Trump has both made bad choices and has had bad advice. I admire someone who sucks it up and does what needs doing, even if others think it is wrong.

I don’t accept that he was a great commander at all. In fact, I’d suggest that one big reason the U.S. hasn’t won a war in decades is that he is typical of the faggotry that dominates the military leadership of this nation.

Agreed. If I had to fault President Trump on one SINGLE issue, it would be that he is too trusting and does not vet his employees. For starters, EVERYONE in the West Wing should have been vetted the day he put his hand on the Bible.

Trump has not learned that business is different from politics. In business, there is honor among thieves... in politics it’s lying, back-stabbing, and subversion.

Sorry, but I completely disagree. Mattis’ whole persona is wrapped up in military leadership, including counterinsurgency. Mattis just stepped on his own claymore, driven by his desire to be politically relevant.

Before you ask - yes, I know of what I speak. I am a former US Army officer myself, but was more interested in my marriage and family to become a lifer.

Trump has hired a lot of stinkers. Including a lot of nevertrumpers

He has a limited pool of confirmable cenaidates to draw from. Some of the stinkers, like Sessions, surprised most of us. Also, so of the guys who are sound in business are not in government, like that Exxon guy.

Why did Trump hire him?

That is the basis of life and of Trump's hit show the "Apprentice"

As the boss, you put people into positions to see if that can GET the JOB DONE!

Those that DON'T hear those magic words "You're Fired!"
