The black soldier, a sergeant, is mocked and taunted over and over, even denigrated for having “a lazy eye.”

These aren't looters, they are enemy combatants fighting for a cause. Putting those dogs down would just be furthering their cause. These two belligerents are well aware of that and are willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice. Easy to do when you know the subsequent GoFundMe campaign will take care of your family.

The race of the guardsman wouldn't matter. The military is just a white man's tool. In fact, he only joined because he had no other options.
