Pizza chain &pizza is offering its employees paid time off for activism following the death of George Floyd last week. The fast-casual restaurant announced the news on Sunday. For those in this pain. For those in this fight. We stand with the Black Community against racial hate and injustice, &pizza tweeted. In memory of George Floyd & in UNITY always. From this day forward, @andpizza will be giving its employees paid time off for activism.

The custom-pie restaurant chain, based in Washington, D.C., employs about 700 people across 40 locations in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York and Massachusetts. The new time-off policy will empower employees to participate in activism of their choosing starting this week and moving forward, the spokesperson said.

Or just leave a pile of bricks on the sidewalk in front of their stores.
Isn’t a pizza shop in DC where the pizzagate thing was?
I always said there was no such thing as bad pizza.
Until now.
Unless they say they wont provide pizza for gay weddings.
Then taking a stand is EVIL.
But then this is just more white virtue signaling to use black people as fallguys.
Its not like these pizza places were open or slammed with orders anyway - right?
The battle lines are being drawn - by the other side.
Our side won’t/can’t fight.
What is the name of the pizza place? The article isn’t clear.
***I’m sure a lot of students wish they had been enrolled in school now, so they could have gotten the satisfaction of walking out for the greater good. “Look at me! I’m helping!”
Just had a thought... did the Dems sneak in tax breaks for companies that give employees time off for charity work?
Maybe in the largest urban areas, but we had hundreds of armed Patriots patrolling the city last night here in North Idaho.
I'm going to be nice. The name of the place is: "&pizza". Go back and read the headline.
This is just lame virtue-signaling. The “policy” will last a month at most until employees start taking advantage of it and the chain issues a statement saying, “With regret, we must suspend our policy of paid time-off for activism, in deep concern for our team members who have faced physical danger from authorities while engaging in their right to peacefully protest. #&PizzaCares”
“Pizza chain & pizza”? That’s a brand name?
It sounds so......generic, like saying Brand X, or Acme.
Thank you for your restraint. lol!
I am once again revisiting the idea of moving...
Why they don't get burned to ground for coming out with something like that demonstrates the difference between them and us. We get fired, our houses/businesses burned/looted, but they can say and do whatever they want and little or nothing happens to them. The revolution has been going on for YEARS and conservatives have done nothing to stop it. I, for one, have lost all patience with people who will NOT listen. Talk to the hand.
Yes, but who’s on first?
pandering...
Customers should have known with a dumb name of “& pizza”.
Like welfare and unemployment; stay at home, catch Oprah on TV, tell your boss you were busy “protesting,” collect the check. Life is good.
If they’re small businesses, then you jest, Shirley. If they’re large, only if they “donated” or suddenly show former dem staffers on their boards.
