The first tear gas was fired a little after 6:30. You are right, his speech ended at 7pm, and if the capital police had waited until 7pm and fired tear gas, the story would not have been that tear gas was fired while the protesters still had a right to be there.

This isn’t Trump’s fault, he waited until after 7pm to do the walk.

So Trump did not “order” the gas? In all honesty, I did not see the gassing. I turned it off right after the speech and during the speech, I saw protesters in Lafayette Square. I did not see any gas.

Later, when I read about Trump walking to the church, I switched it back and saw him going toward the church and that’s when I saw the clouds of tear gas.

Overall, my conscience is clear. After days of violence right in front of the White House, they can’t take any chances on the president being injured or attacked. I will agree, if it is found to be true, that they should have ordered them to move prior to the use of tear gas.

But it isn’t even as serious as 1968 when cops beat people half to death with batons and flashlights.
