The mayor of Minneapolis told individuals protesting that their anger is understandable and right" but urged them to make sure they are wearing masks and practicing social distancing during their demonstrations.
The City encourages everyone to exercise caution to stay safe while participating in demonstrations, including wearing masks and physical distancing as much as possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Freys office wrote in a statement addressed to individuals who took to the streets following the death of George Floyd while in police custody. The City has made hundreds of masks available to protesters this week.
On Thursday, Frey expressed empathy by telling protesters their anger was right.
What weve seen over the last two days, and the emotion-ridden conflict over last night, is the result of so much built-up anger and sadness, anger and sadness that has been ingrained in our black community not just because of five minutes of horror but 400 years, Frey said. If youre feeling that sadness and that anger, its not only understandable. Its right.
Frey continued: Its a reflection of the truth that our black community has lived. While not from lived experience, that sadness must also be understood by our non-black communities. To ignore it, to toss it out, would be to ignore the values we all claim to have. That are all the more important during a time of crisis.

What is next?
Will the Minneapolis Mayor hand out latex gloves to those who are looting the stores so the looters do not leave any fingerprints and leave an corona virus on hard surfaces?
I was sure this was Babylon Bee. But it isn’t.
To quote my late dad (may God rest his soul):
“This guy sounds like tits on a bull.”
I dont want anyone getting hurt but I find it kind of refreshing that Covid is pushed out of the headlines and that if anything, some of the protest spirit has to do with lockdown angst and being fed up with the authority overreach in general.
This isn’t from the Babylon Bee is it?
Rioters setting buildings on fire without masks will be fined!
Mayor frey “understands” everything.
Yet, he has no solutions to make the situation better.
The mayor solutions made the problems worse
What a great idea! Let’s worry about the rioters who are looting and destroying private property. You jerk...this isn’t a “protest”, it’s a bunch of thugs with an excuse to steal stuff.
Idiot Mayor must’ve read my post and thought I was being series.
Anyone notice the fawning leftist media coverage the rioters are receiving vs. the hateful coverage the people protesting the lockdowns and wanting to open their businesses?
LMAO......Did he also add..obey the speed limit and vote Democrat?
I would love to hear President Dr. Trump say the same thing just to watch Libturds lose their minds.
Its hard to believe a knucklehead like this could be elected to govern a major city.
This report reads like satire.
COVID Phase One re-opening recommendations updated to included masked riots.

Peter Principle in Action Award.
Top of the Pile.
The mayor is a Level Six Retard, always has been. At least now the rest of the country can see him in action.
Is he another one who majored in “community organizing” in college??
“that are all the more important during a time of crisis”?
This is a manufactured unnecessary crisis fomented by the left.

Perhaps the mayor could organize meals on wheels for the rioters. After all once they burned down the restaurants and loot the food stores they may not have anything to eat.

The douchey mayor reminds me of Justin Trudeau.
