The “Obstruction of Justice Trap” – Former AAG Matt Whitaker Confirms Mueller Probe Was Used As Weapon to Cover Coup Effort…

Whitaker describes this as the “obstruction of justice trap.”

Essentially, this approach confirms the second-prong purpose of the Mueller investigation itself. First, use the special counsel in 2017, 2018 and into the beginning of 2019, as a shield (hide information); and secondly a weapon (threats) against any entity who would reveal the background intelligence that undercut the Trump-Russia collusion narrative.

We know President Trump was threatened by Rod Rosenstein not to declassify any information in September of 2018 or the Mueller investigation would use that act as evidence of obstruction. Whitaker confirms that same approach was applied toward any executive branch officer who would reveal or release information to congress during the tenure of the special counsel; even within the DOJ and including the attorney general.

This is how the Mueller probe was weaponized to mislead the American people.

While the Mueller team continued the same corrupt process started in 2016; and essentially transferred the same objectives as the DOJ/FBI team under Crossfire Hurricane; that same investigative unit was used to keep information from surfacing in ’17, ’18 and ’19 that would expose the corrupt nature of the investigation itself.

Documents could not be released without Mueller approval; interviews with key FBI/DOJ officials could not be conducted without Mueller team approval; information could not be declassified without Mueller team approval, etc.

Any agency or individual that attempted to release any information was subject to the threat of indictment by the same corrupt prosecutors leading the investigation. It’s a self-fulfilling safety mechanism. Even DOJ officials like Matt Whitaker were under threat. Whitaker calls it the “Obstruction of Justice Trap”.

With that in mind this is a very serious flaw in the authority of the special counsel statute that needs to be addressed by congress. Who can watch the watchers, when the watchers were specifically selected because they would knowingly contribute to the corruption.

Very disturbing (timestamps for interview):

This absurdity is a violation of the right to due process. Mueller and Rosenstein made it known they would charge people with obstruction of justice if they presented evidence to counter the scam they were putting forward.

This whole thing makes me madder than a hornet. I want to see prosecutions. No re-approval of the FISA process until those who perpetrated this coup are brought to justice.

So Cohen is in jail, Stone is in jail, Papadopoulos was convicted and Flynn has been fighting for his life for 3 years.

Any charges on the other side?

Cohen is in jail, Stone is in jail, Papadopoulos was convicted and Flynn has been fighting for his life for 3 years[and has been bankrupted.

Well you see it was obstruction of justice for anyone in the government to release any information showing that the prosecution was unjust.

Many USAians are smart enough to figure this out. We didn’t need any _experts_ to think for us.

DC is no longer part of USA; it is foreign conquering power.

so is this being “hung out” there to justify the reason why DOJ/fibbers would not release exculpatory evidence for flynn, stone, papa??

iow, DOJ/fibbers were just “going by the book” & not in violation of the Brady rule????

I cannot make up my mind about Whitaker. It seems in hindsight that he “should have done more” to rein this charade in, but if you step back to that point in time you had the GOPe, media, and democrats all “protecting Mueller” who as Joey D said was turned into some kind of “supercop above everyone and everything accountable to nobody”.

Part of me is ticked off at Whitaker just as I am at powerful Republicans on the oversight committees who did not demand to see the underpinnings of this farce. However, in fairness to Matt, Trump himself chose the tact that he would cooperate and not interfere and in hindsight, while it is infuriating and dragged this thing out, it is hard to argue with the tact. Whitaker does have the right measure of this - it was an obstruction of justice trap and they were begging for Trump to interfere in any way.

Now that we have more hindsight, Rosenstein appears to be the key architect of this and I am curious to hear his testimony. I think Graham is part of the cover-up honestly - he has done nothing but obstruct even while talking a good game.

Grassley, Lee, Cruz, and Blackburn will likely ask some tough questions. There are a few others who at times can drill down who will be asking questions.

We will have a good idea of where this is going pretty quickly in the hearings when we hear the questions - not just the answers.

If Rosenstein immediately starts deflecting to Comey, Mueller, and others we will have our answer. There is no longer any basis to declare him to be a “white hat” as some have done. This thing looks worse every week.

The assertion you make works with the media and politicians. It did work and quite well.

The rub for Mueller and Co. was that they had to make it work in the courts and they couldn’t. That is where they failed because when it moved into the courts they had to produce the proof and they couldn’t because there was never any proof.

We all want to see prosecutions. Fact of the matter is, nobody, and I mean NOBODY will face any justice whatsoever. The whole damn justice system is corrupt to the core. I have no confidence whatsoever.

Whitaker, always a good guy. He was a temporary AG. Why people think he should have been a cowboy shooting up the place makes no sense. He recently stated he recognized there was a trap laid for him and he was right.

Rod Rosenstein must now be a flipper because he’s in the middle of the “insurance plan” to overturn the 2016 election. He wasn’t placed as the understudy to the compromised Jeff Sessions for no reason.

Also, former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson said it was Rosenstein behind the illegal spying operation against her according to a whistleblower.

There’s far more to surface and President Trump points to those documents’ release as being pivotal in ObamaGate.

It’s going to be a long summer for the Rats.

>>Fact of the matter is, nobody, and I mean NOBODY will face any justice<<

I respectfully disagree. I believe there is way too much damning evidence out now and to come for every single actor to slide through unscathed. I do acknowledge, unfortunately those at the top will be allowed to escape. Just like Hillary skated through being held to account for violations of the espionage act. Sad for America.

It’ll be a few patsies and scapegoats unfortunately that will bare the brunt.

The seriousness of the charges doesn’t go that way.

But the magnanimity of the exonerations does (re: excusing Hillary’s mishandling of classified material).

I instinctively like Whitaker very much. I always have. Perhaps I expect too much, but I remember him being very “careful” with his words. Barr has been far more blunt in his assessment of what happened in his public statements.

I am very frustrated. While I get that Whitaker was temporary and walked into a clown show of epic proportions in all the chaos, my question for him would be (as I would love to ask a few others) why he could not make a general statement - something to the effect of “I am not going to interfere with this process, but I think America is going to be shocked when they find out more about this because the public narrative is far out of line with the information that I have seen of collusion.”

In other words - I am not going to interfere, but buckle up America, because this thing is a pile of poo.

I always had the impression he felt that way, but there was such an aura created around Mueller and the witchhunt that everyone, democrat, republican, mediacrat, could only speak glowingly of “how honorable he was and how vital to our nation his work was.”

He could have said this. Gowdy could have said this because he claims now that he knew it was a pile of poo. There are a few key people who could have said “there is going to be a report” and then there will be “another report about the first report.”

We knew. Most of us here on FR knew years ago. John Solomon and other serious journalist knew. “Hannity Interruptus” knew. Devin Nunes knew and said this. A few members of the freedom caucus in the house knew and said this.

However, the GOP folks with the most gravitas said nothing. All of them knew what was said in the closed door hearings and we just got to read the transcript. They remained silent as the same people who testified that they saw nothing said the opposite.

Why? It’s not “top secret” to give your opinion or say “that is not what Brennan or Clapper said behind closed doors.” If they say it on MSDNC or CNN, but they said the opposite under oath, is that not a lie?

They should have repeatedly called Schiff a liar to his face. They whittled around the edges, but outside of Nunes I don’t recall too many calling Schiff out either.

They let us down because they let a lie become a storm against this President. They threw the 2018 election and gave Pelosi the gavel because they did not fight back.

“...they had to produce the proof and they couldn’t because there was never any proof.”

An important question that Mueller needs to answer under oath (and he won’t) is exactly when did he know there was no evidence? Everyone now knows the answer is - “from day 1.” Assuming he wasn’t in on it before he was appointed, for him it might be a later date than day 1. But based on what one of Trump’s attorneys just said about Mueller being a liar, Mueller - if not one of the conspirators from the beginning, he crossed the line at some point.
