SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- A woman is in custody after allegedly hitting a pedestrian who was running from a crime scene in Scottsdale.
Scottsdale police said the situation started on Sunday at 10:45 p.m. when officers responded to a fight in the nightclub area near Scottsdale and Camelback roads. Witnesses told police a man had assaulted another man and ran from the scene.
A short time later, the same suspect was hit by a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Yessenia Garcia, police said.
According to police, Garcia left the scene but was located by officers a short distance away where she was arrested for DUI.
The suspect who was hit by the vehicle was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. His current condition is unknown.
Should she get her time reduced for stopping the assault suspect?
Was the violent guy jaywalking? Or as a pedestrian did he have right of way?
I’ve seen people climb up and run across highways even. They don’t always make it to the other side (I’ve never seen that happen but I’ve read about it in the paper).
When I saw the headline, I figured the driver was a Mexican. LOL...I was right.
As they say in French, “We have a two-fer”. Sort of like Wiley Coyote and Road Runner, but this time both get hit by something.
Back in the late 90s, a girlfriend & I were driving I-95 at night and a group of people tried to cross. They were between the lanes of moving traffic and we clipped one with our right side mirror. At plus 70mph, he/she was lifted up and spun like a top.
Some might consider that a ‘twofer’.
Two for one.
A friend told me about a co-worker of his who was driving through downtown Detroit one day. I guy ran between two cars and the co-worker ran him over, killing him.
Suddenly a number of police officers ran into the scene. After a few minutes, they told the guy to go on his way. The deceased was being chased by the cops and suddenly the chase ended
