France revokes decree authorising use of hydroxychloroquine to treat Covid-19

The French government on Wednesday revoked a decree authorising hospitals to prescribe the controversial drug for Covid-19 patients after France’s public health watchdog warned against its use to treat the disease.

The drug has been the subject of much debate in France, where “maverick” Professor Didier Raoult claimed in March to have successfully treated Covid-19 patients using a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin.

However, doctors have questioned the value of Professor Raoult’s study, saying it was poorly designed and based on too small a sample to offer hard evidence of benefit.

If it’s as dangerous as they claim, where are all the sob stories? All it would take would be one.

Every one of these patients was hospitalized, which means that they were likely in the stages where there is a cytokine storm and are already experiencing lung tissue destruction. HCQ is of little use in such situations.

According to one of HCQ's earliest and most spectacularly successful proponents, Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, HCQ + Zinc is to be used on high-risk patients (older, comorbidities) as early as possible, on the same day as the COVID-19 test or immediately upon the onset of symptoms. The whole idea is to prevent the cascading ARDS events which result in high-risk patients' hospitalization, not to intervene after ARDS and critical hospitalization.

Here's a group of Brazilian scientists and academics who charge that (some) doctors, using e.g. WHO guidelines, are using HCQ in such a way as to practically guarantee mortality:

Close, but I believe it would be BIG PHARMA manipulating the truth for profits on their new expensive drugs. HCQ doesn’t cost much, thus little profits.

It’s not dangerous at all. They are blaming the side effect of azithromycin, which does on occasion cause QTc Prolongation which can lead to tachycardias such as torsades de pointes, on hydroxychloroquine.

There’s a two front war on hydroxychloroquine from both the left, because of their hatred for Trump, and the medical bureaucracy because there’s no money in it. Look how fast they’ve jumped on Remdesivir which reportedly is much less safe than hydroxychloroquine and seems to do very little to help... but costs anywhere from $2,000 to $4,500 for a full treatment regimen for someone with covid-19. Using hydroxychloroquine and zinc cost less than $20

From the American College of Rheumatology:

https://www.rheumatology.org/I-Am-A/Patient-Caregiver/Treatments/Hydroxychloroquine-Plaquenil

Side Effects

‘Hydroxychloroquine typically is very well tolerated. Serious side effects are rare. The most common side effects are nausea and diarrhea, which often improve with time. Less common side effects include rash, changes in skin pigment (such as darkening or dark spots), hair changes, and muscle weakness. Rarely, hydroxychloroquine can lead to anemia in some individuals. This can happen in individuals with a condition known as G6PD deficiency or porphyria.”

“In rare cases, hydroxychloroquine can cause visual changes or loss of vision. Such vision problems are more likely to occur in individuals taking high doses for many years, in individuals 60 years or older, those with significant kidney or liver disease, and those with underlying retinal disease. At the recommended dose, development of visual problems due to the medication is rare. It is recommended that you have an eye exam within the first year of use, then repeat every 1 to 5 years based on current guidelines.’

“Additional rare reports of changes in the heart rhythm have been reported with the use of hydroxychloroquine, particularly in combination with other medications. While monitoring for this risk is not typical in the office setting, it has been indicated in hospitalized and critically ill patients to evaluate for interactions with other medications.’

And if you want to understand why hydroxychloroquine absolutely does work, not in tandem with azithromycin, but when partnered with zinc, you should also watch this:

It’s over. Anti-HCQ forces have won. Period. Period. Period. (As Biden would say).

To be fair, I don't think everything France does is driven by Trump.

They have their own politics.

If you look at the Worldometer graphs for France, both new CV cases and new CV deaths have been very low for the past month, compared to the peak. If HCQ was one of their main treatment options, it seems to have worked. Now that the disease is pretty much under control, they are caving to the anti-HCQ lobby.

I saw an article posted yesterday or day before saying India is expanding the use of HCQ. India produces HCQ and they’re seeing good results with it. For example:

In Mumbai [Bombay], 10,000 policemen [over 40 years of age] were offered hydroxychloroquine, 4,500 accepted and used it diligently. Among the policemen who have used HCQ, there are zero reported fatalities, among those who refused, nine fatalities. Some who were taking HCQ got a “mild attack” and survived.

Soon we’ll hear about the desperate person putting a gun to their pharmacist’s head demanding HCQ.

Simarly, the anti-viral drug Tamaflu only works for seasonal flu if taken within 48 hours of the first onset of symptoms.

Do you remember when the emails came out showing the lying and the
creation and planting of fake evidence of Global Warming and their true motivations were revealed?

They learned nothing since then, it seems.

Now it’s about stopping a cure and a preventative that is interfering with their plans.
