BOSTON (CN) — Former Vice President Joe Biden won the endorsement of the AFL-CIO, the country’s largest coalition of labor unions, on Tuesday, in a development that could help him in union-heavy swing states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Biden is “the embodiment of goodness and decency,” said Richard Trumka, president of the 12.5 million-member organization, in a video.

The endorsement was not unexpected....

Surprise, surprise... This is like anticipating with baited breath what candidate the NY Times will endorse for president... I can hardly wait for them to confirm that they are Democrat thru and thru... Pardon me while I gag and puke.

This isn't fake news... It isn't even 'news' of any sort, reporting that the sky is blue and the earth revolves around the sun would be more relevant.

It’s never about jobs for the unions.

“....the embodiment of goodness and decency....”

In that universe, I wonder how bad “evil and indecency” would have to be, in order to differentiate from their version of “goodness and decency”.

How the union votes is one thing. How the union members vote is quite often another thing entirely.

Note to the rank-and-file: Your leadership is trying to get rid of the guy whose economy was the best thing that ever happened to the solvency of your pension funds...and could be again as long as the people your leadership support don’t succeed in removing him.

Vote for ‘Rats at your peril.

It made news back in 1972 when the AFL-CIO refused to endorse George McGovern; he was too liberal for them.

Unfortunately I don’t remember if they endorsed Nixon, or simply sat out the election that year.

” How the union members vote is quite often another thing entirely.”

Exactly.

You don’t hear much about the multimillions stolen from UAW members by their overlords. Yes, the FBI nailed them, but the rank and file are angry that their dues supported the union president and others.

What the overlords endorse does not spread to the workers. They have a different viewpoint.

The union executives and minority members still vote democrat. The white members don’t vote democrat in large numbers anymore. When I worked in the union over 10 years ago almost all the members hated the union more then anything else. President Trump can pick up a majority of their votes by talking his America first policies. He will definitely need his A game to beat all the corruption.

Dick(less) trumpka is a card carrying communist.

And just because the “front office” endorses creepy joe does NOT mean the rank and file will vote for him.

Trump gave the “Union vote” the final push over the crest of the voting hill. This cycle will see the sharpest slide in union worker support for Democrats ever. It will flatten out the edge and neutralize the union vote rendering it useless. For extra wood on this fire consider this: Democrats MUST take from civil service unions to buy illegal alien votes. They MUST take the traditional union vote for granted and they will be wrong.

Your leadership is trying to get rid of the guy whose economy was the best thing that ever happened to the solvency of your pension funds

A good economy would surely help their funds.

That may take too long. There's an easier way to do it. AFL leadership is trying to get the pension plans "solvent" by getting you the taxpayer to make them solvent.

“How the union votes is one thing. How the union members vote is quite often another thing entirely.”

Exactly. I work in a union shop, and out of the 300 of us, 295 for sure will NOT vote for biden. And that 295 includes our shop stewards and our local president and vice president.

"It’s never about jobs for the unions."

Nope, never has been.. It's all about graft, how much money union leaders can skim off the unfortunate business men that must deal with them.. The working man, the rank and file, are mostly conservative and loves their country

If Biden goes down due to his amazing stupidity I would expect the AFL-CIO to endorse Xi Jinping...

Yes, idk why reporters persist in the myth that union endorsements translate into votes by union members. That has rarely if ever been true ever since Nixon won over the “hard hat” vote in 1972.

The mystery of the AFL-CIO supporting the party that will marginalize American workers for illegal alien cheap labor, shows that the leadership is beyond any relevant use to America.
