Them being fired don’t mean a thing, Nully. They will just rehire them the next day. or they will go down the road until the next town. They hire them.

It’s been determined that in some police departments high intelligence is a disqualifier.

“Dumb cops, dumb cops, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do with a low IQ?”.

Not this time!

Oooooh. They lost their jobs.

Manslaughter usually involves a lengthy prison sentence.

“They were telling him to get up and get in the car while one of them still had his knee on the guy’s neck/head.”

I think the police need to work on their communication skills and protacol. Maybe have just ONE cop giving orders would be good. I know if it was me (as the perp) I would already be highly stressed and listening to a bunch of various commands from different people would confuse me even more.

That concealed carry guy that got killed at the Costco in Las Vegas years ago. Four cops waiting for him as he exited the store. All of them yelling different orders. “Show us your hands!” “On the ground”, “On your knees!”, etc.

Or the recent video of Arbery (”jogger”) when he was in the park. The one cop had already searched him, and the other cop comes and tries to taze him when he wasn’t cooperating quick enough. “Oh yeah - I already searched him....”

Some of all of these four cops will probably be charged with at least manslaughter in the death of this man.

Any one who watched the video of their callous disregard for the man's pleadings that he couldn't breathe and then watched him go comatose, and they still don't do anything to help him, knows these cops know what was going on and now they should pay for their inhumanity.

They had too many people watching close-up and taking videos and photos and the crowd pleading with them to let him get up and put him in the squad car to say it was a misunderstanding or they didn't mean to kill him.

They had plenty of chances to do the right thing and didn't.

“Police claimed Floyd matched the description of a suspect in a forgery case at a grocery store and that he resisted arrest.”

Does the immediate firing indicate he was not the man they were looking for and they foolishly killed an innocent citizen?

OK,that's not a bad idea.Do your level best to avoid doing anything that would cause you to stand out to cops. That was my policy during BCT...try to be as invisible as possible so as to avoid the drill sergeants' wrath.

But,again I say that if I were to ever be treated illegally by a cop I'd be sure to sue...for lots of $$$.

In Chicago, it used to take $500 to an alderman to get on the force. Now it’s probably more like $2,500.

The officer kept him pinned after the cuffs were on and after orders were given for the guy to get up.

Sorry, but the cop was engaged in “punishing” the suspect for resisting and disrespecting his authority. He’s a total disgrace to other cops.

Hang him.

Has the autopsy come back? I have not seen the full video. My understanding is there is a cell phone video that shows a police officer with his knee on the back of this guy’s neck. Was that the cause of his death? Obviously, you do not like police officers. I am familiar with dozens of cases where officers have either been killed or injured by people resisting arrest. Sometimes defendants try to disarm the police officers and shoot them. The way to avoid injury or death is to not resist arrest. The fact that there were four officers needed to arrest this guy suggest he was a violent thug who needed to be corralled. It’s easy to second-guess from the comfort of your living room. If you had to deal with these thugs maybe you would have a little more sympathy for what the police officers go through.

I have not seen the full video

You would not be making the assumptions you have if you would have seen the entire video. I rest my case.

Anyone who has not watched the video needs to as soon as possible. The full video.

Not only are the police telling him to get up while their knee is on his neck but he actually says he will, yet they continue.

Later in the video an off duty female first responder begs the police to at least do a check for a pulse due to the man being unresponsive, yet the police do nothing, keeping their knee on the neck the entire time.

This is the worst police brutality video I have ever seen. And the police did it all while the cameras were rolling, right there in their face.

This video is a statement from the police to all those they so call serve.

As I have said on other threads, if you watch this, and see nothing wrong, you are not one of my countrymen. I would never share a foxhole with you. Thankfully anyone who thinks this action ok, will be on the other side of no mans land from me.

BTW, if you can’t breathe you can’d talk either, and on the video the guy is talking for about 2 minutes.

That's what I was thinking. On one hand, if you can yell, you can breathe. On the other hand... he died. So... clearly SOMETHING went wrong.

“These cops should have tazaed him instead.“

Oh they pulled the taser out, but not for the man, for the citizens on the street begging the police to at least check for a pulse.

If you’re having breathing difficulties, for instance because there’s some cop with his knee bearing down upon your neck, you could probably muster the strength to cry out a few times at great expense since that only makes you need to breathe harder and your airway is constricted. If this situation goes on too long you progressively lose the strength to breathe and eventually pass out, then die.

Have you seen the full video? I watched the CBS story. They show a video of the deceased walking calmly with a police officer in handcuffs. The next thing they show is the deceased on the ground yelling “I can’t breathe.“ Obviously, if you can’t breathe, you can’t constantly yell out “I can’t breathe.” I’m sorry, but I am confident there is much more to the story. What did this guy do to cause four police officers to have to be involved in arresting him? Why was he on the ground? Was he high on drugs? Responsible people wait for all of the facts before vilifying police officers. Remember the Gentle Giant and the Georgia Jogger. Finally, I would point out that the deceased looked like a bodybuilder. I want more facts, the body cam video, and any other videos that were taken, along with the autopsy report before I make any conclusions regarding whether the officers acted appropriately.
