That mask isn't virtuous, nor is it going to keep you from catching the virus. Plus, various other things.
Its time to say a few things which need to be said and to irritate some people who need to be irritated (as they are surely irritating).
And on with the show
1. Enough with the Mask-Nazi nonsense.
Those of us who refuse to live our lives in fear, or to bow to those who do, have a message for the rest of you the time has come and gone for us to continue with this idiotic charade of wearing masks in public.
The mask is not an adequate defense against the COVID-19 virus, gang. The virus checks in at somewhere between 0.06 and 0.14 microns, meaning its too small for any commercially available mask to effectively filter it out. The pores on an N95 mask, which are the best masks youre reasonably going to find, and the vast, vast majority of you are not going to have N95 masks but rather cloth masks which perform far less well, are 0.3 microns.
Meaning that while the N95 mask you wish you had but dont, and that you shouldnt have because doctors and nurses who have to treat coronavirus patients daily in hospitals need a steady supply of them, might trap the virus most of the time, that crappy cloth mask youre wearing is more or less worthless. All its doing is signaling to people that you think you care more about the virus than they do.
But if you really want to wear that mask, OK. Go ahead and wear it. Its time to stop giving the stink-eye, or worse, a piece of your Karen mind, to people who arent impressed with your Mask Virtue...

Its so bad that the roads are covered with morons driving alone with masks on.
The only way to put an end to the Mask Nazis is for President Trump to announce they are bunk, and order all Federal government agencies to cease and desist with this garbage.
Once that is accomplished, freedom will break like a wave on rocks.
In before the man with the mask concessions posts...
You guys are now clinically insane on this issue.
Hm, sometimes I wonder what your life is like?
People running errands aren’t going to take the mask off between stops.
Yes, they will be seen in cars while wearing masks.
Question: if corona is so “highly contagious”, wouldn’t most people have caught it in the 3-4 months it was already here before the March lockdowns began?
In the past few weeks, I increasingly see on social media that spiteful, malicious or catty women are referred to as "Karen." Where does that come from? Is there a villain in some TV show or movie named Karen?
I heard a report that the virus really DOESN’T live all that long on surfaces as we were previously told. This means that the only way to catch it is pretty much personal contact.
Doesn’t matter though. The governors are making public policy more on whim and what sounds reasonable at the moment. They aren’t adjusting based upon the ‘Best Science’. Where have I heard that phrase before?
I take my mask off between stops.
Imagine being so insecure you think wearing a mask makes you look weak.
You take a risk every time you put the mask on and off.
If you have a long time between stops that may be worth it. We try to arrange hubby’s errands to be efficient to avoid that.
YMMV.
Au contraire, I take mine off the minute I exit a store and put it on as I enter. I am not going to drive around in my car with it on. And the ONLY reason I wear it at all is so people don’t give me dirty looks. And Nordstrom’s reopened and requires it. Now, that said, I want to compliment Hobby Lobby on its sensible sneeze shields made from flexible plastic on a dowel suspended from above the checkout. Way more economical than that expensive plexiglass. Give credit to the guy (or probably gal) that thought that up!
see my reply to the previous reply to my post.
‘The only way to put an end to the Mask Nazis is for President Trump to announce they are bunk’
since his primary health advisors are the ones pushing the mask fascism, that would be too little, too late...the time to announce that was in April...
Imagine being so insecure you think wearing a mask makes you look weak.
Imagine thinking that volunteering to be a disease vector is an act of bravery.
OK, Agnes why do you think it is a risk to take the mask off and put it back on? In what way pray tell?
‘Imagine being so insecure you think wearing a mask makes you look weak.’
bullcrap; I don’t think it makes me look weak; it makes me look like I’m a grovelling supplicant...
I stopped putting mine on even in my local stores. There is a growing number of people doing the same, from toddlers to people in there 70s. I carry a mask in my pocket in case I am asked to put in on but so far, no one even seems to care if there is a mask on or off. At least in my area, the fad of wearing a mask seems to be fading.
For those that do wear masks, at least half, aren’t doing it correctly.
