(CNN)New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office deflected questions about a report from The Associated Press that the state sent more than 4,500 patients recovering from coronavirus to nursing homes by saying they followed guidance from federal agencies.
"I just want to reiterate once again that the policy that the Department of Health put out was in line directly with the March 13 directive put out by (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) that read, and I quote, 'Nursing homes should admit any individuals from hospitals where Covid is present,'" said Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa on Saturday during a briefing. "Not could, should ... that is President (Donald) Trump's CMS and CDC.
"There are over a dozen states that did the exact same thing, many of whom were concerned about hospital capacity. ... Obviously any death is an unfortunate death," DeRosa said, listing the totals from other states amongst New York's. "It's been a national and international tragedy that everybody has had to grapple with and it is something that we're trying to learn from every day and move forward."

I know. I was just interpreting what the CDC guidelines said. Cumo is lying.
FU, Cuomo. Seriously, GFY.
A patient coming from a hospital where they are treating covid positive patients and sending covid positive patients to nursing homes are very different things.
CUOMO! YOU LIE!
Lying like this is entirely in character for a Cuomo. The Cuomo family is nothing but gutter filth.
Guidelines set limits. They do not always specify what to do. Cuomo made the decision to send these people back to nursing homes. The guidelines did not require him to do so,
Dr. Brix has made a point that the CDC issues multiple page documents that describe detailed guidance for governmental bodies dealing with this, as well as other diseases it addresses. It also issues simple short summaries that are more appropriate for journalists, public postings, and possibly other simple minded persons, like some governors. It appears that Governor Cuomo might be too simple minded for even those. He clearly hasn’t comprehended how Governor DeSantis could read the guidelines and then prohibit COVID-19 patients from going to nursing homes, while Governor Cuomo has required this. Maybe Cuomo doesn’t understand that sick patients are contagious?
Why did he send them to senior homes and not to the big empty hospital ship the President sent him?
He knew what he was doing. He wanted a higher body count.
@NYGovCuomo You are right - it is Trump's fault you killed old people by sending sick folks to nursing homes instead of the thousands of unused beds he provided for the sick.
He told you to use your best judgement and run your State...like giving a drunk the keys to a Ferrari.
He needs to face justice

“Nursing homes should admit any individuals that they would normally admit to their facility,”
the question is did Covid Cuomo put patients into nursing homes the nursing home would normally not admit?
In early March both Medicare and Medicaid changed regs so that nursing homes could refuse WuFlu patients if needed.
Interesting that the enemedia never mentions that.
Interesting that the enemedia doesn’t ask why the new budget passed in April prevents anyone from pursuing civil or criminal WuFlu related action against nursing homes.
Interesting that the enemedia never asks nursing home directors why, when they could refuse, the directors still accepted the patients.
For any journo worthy of the job description, I have some advice: Take a look at what happened in Steuben County in Upstate NY.
This is on Cuomo and the legislature.
Medicare and Medicaid changed their regs in early March.
Cuomo is lying through his teeth and do us the enemedia.
” ‘Nursing homes should admit any individuals from hospitals where Covid is present,’”
Cuomo and his state agencies reversed the meaning and intent of those words.
The idea was not concerned with transferring Wuhan Virus infected patients into nursing homes. It was concerned with transferring nursing home bound patients from hospitals where the virus was present - getting persons out of hospitals where the virus was present. Nothing in the recommendation implied removing infected persons from hospitals to nursing homes.
“IN this case it’s hard to believe that the CDC recommendered forcing nursing homes to take COVID19 sick folks WITHOUT preparation. “
See my other post. The federal recommendation was not at all about moving an infected person into a nursing home.
They didnt. In fact, federal regs were changed in early March to allow facilities that needed to the ability to refuse.
We need to know if any did. We need to know if any tried, what then happened. Why d facilities didn’t go to court, call their lawyers, their legislators, stare abd/or federal.
How were the people running the nursing homes threatened and/or bribed by the state into taking back WuFlu patients?
Yall are preaching to the choir here...
I cant help but make some noise...
Hes a Tyrant who got caught satisfying his need for his next #Powergasm . Again.
Just another Tyrant, Drooling into the Abyss.
The murderous monster should go into hiding now.
