I think folks are overthinking this.
Back in March all we had coming out of China was clearly
insufficient numbers, and a total propaganda campaign
focused to scare the crap out of the West.
And frankly, more than a few folks here played up every
suspect video as it if had to be 100% true, only still
not showing the full devastation. CONSERVATIVES deserve
some blame here too.
More than a few Conservatives bought into the hype hook
line and sinker, and played it to the hilt.
So Trump got bad advice. Hell, most of us did.
Now in hind sight that advice was bad. Still, who really
knew that up front? None of us.
Another truth is that the numbers were greatly impacted by
the social distancing and sheltering in place.
Still, there’s only so much of that you can do without
committing economic suicide in the process.
We need to get back out there.

We should have been opened up weeks ago. There will be a

Yes, state governors are emergency dictators (hurricanes, earthquakes, floods), but some of them are pushing the time limits of emergency powers and enjoying the hell out of it.
Trump’s situation is this: If he had ignored the advice of the medical experts, the left would blame him for 100,000 deaths. Trump DID follow the advice of the medical experts, and the left STILL blames him for 100,000 deaths, PLUS some conservatives blame him for the economic devastation, as does the left. This is what happens when the press tolerates - and participates in - blatant lying.

Thursday a judged rule in favor of Gretchen the Terrible Witchmore in Michigan to continue the "emergency" powers she has despite both houses of the legislature trying to stop her. What emergency? No bombs, hurricane or tornado. No urban riots as 1967. People wanting a haircut or to go out to a restaurant or, gasp!, to a church or synagogue worship service together. Not with her and her "emergency" around.
