The Supreme Court should not require President Trump to release his tax returns on several grounds. There is not one good reason for his tax return to be released, and far too many why they should not. In addition, the Supreme Court should not vote along party lines on this issue. This should be a unanimous vote in order to send a message that the release of these documents would set a dangerous precedent.
Without getting into whether it is unconstitutional or not; for sake of argument lets just assume it is not. All the problems that can occur cannot be foreseen. The Democratic Partys constant attempts to reveal the president's tax returns could be the opening of the proverbial Pandoras Box.
Pandoras Box A present which seems valuable, but which in reality is a curse. The Democratic Party has attempted to get the presidents accountants and bankers to release his records. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) has a code of ethics which expressly prohibits the releasing of a clients records. Doing so could result in the loss of a CPA license. Bankers have similar rules. Will those standards be compromised forever? What happens to other professions? Will lawyers be required to violate their attorney-client privilege? Will the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA law) be rewritten or eliminated? And how about journalists? Will they still be able to protect their sources?

The CV-19 plandemic will fail by July 4th. Tax returns will be the “event” that will dominate the summer news cycle. Don’t trust Roberts.
In fact, he was NEVER actually a President. He was a usurper, allowed by both parties and your news media to act as a real President for eight years. Obama was an enemy within the gates thanks to the gate keepers themselves. This should tell you all you need to know about your government.
Where can I find the SC Justices’ tax returns?
Yes.
Wonder what they would look like today. But, it aint none o my bidness.
Or mine either. He's back to being a private citizen.
Andrew Secretary of the Treasury to Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover. In 1932 when FDR took over he decided to destroy Mellon. So they charged him with tax fraud and put him on trial that spanned multiple years. They didn't even allege actual fraud, they were trying to say that tax avoidance, legal tax avoidance, was equivalent to law breaking and get him jailed for it. They also forced him to lay out all of his financial dealings in public. Just a fishing expedition and it failed, Mellon was acquitted.
But the idea stands: Get the returns, find something that, even though legal they can say should be illegal, and impeach Trump. Then make it a public spectacle to go over ever record of every deal he ever did.
The IRS has engaged in criminal behavior before to trash political opponents. Look at the tea party. Look at the founder Mozilla who got ousted because his donation from his own pocket to the popularly supported prop eight initiative was deemed politically incorrect by the Homofascists.
Obama never released his transcripts
FDR was an evil SOB.
Yup. Note that the part about forcing Mellon to disclose all of his wealth was solely for one reason: it was the depression an fat cats were not looked on kindly by struggling people. FDR was explicity trying to bias the public and the jury pool against Mellon simply by making him say just how rich he was out loud, in public. Since there was no crime, he clearly was looking to send him to jail for (1) not paying the worst case taxes he could have paid if he hadn’t used legal avoidance strategies and (2) being super rich and (3) criticizing FDR (the real one)
There is an add-on for Firefox called “Google Container”, which sandboxes any google links...
Seems legit, so far. Been using it for about a month.
College transcripts? I don't know any president who has. Up to and including Trump.
Has ALL of Congress and Senate released their tax returns lets start there!! Every damn one of them!!
The documents are private and must remain so.
Can you imagine what would happen if the Democrats got ahold of them? Four plus years of impeachment on steroids.
Agreed. And we should carve out more space near Mount Rushmore for Presidents Reagan and Trump. They belong there.
I really think that the President doesn’t want to disturb the tradition of respecting former presidents. It would certainly be great and very interesting to have them, but it’s best not to change things, IMO.
