A field hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., built to deal with the coronavirus has been closed without treating a single patient. The $21 million facility was part of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s response to the growing number of coronavirus patients at New York City hospitals. That response included smaller facilities at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center and Stony Point (Long Island), and a huge, 1,100-bed medical center at the Javits Center.
All told, the state spent upwards of $350 million on facilities that were built but never used.

Cuomo simply loves wasting money - check out all the boondoggles he’s poured money into as governor. It’s an incurable disease with demonrats...
They spent only 1/3 of what the Houston one cost and they were open longer than the Houston one (about double the time).
Neither saw parients.
Meanwhile cuomo sent infected patients back to nursing homes and killed almost 5000 people...
Better to build it and not need it than to do nothing and then need it.
Money to connected parties no doubt.
Wonder is any recipients will be making campaign donations

They’re homes. Not hospitals. They don’t have procedure equipment. Staffing, personal protective equipment, ventilators

I think we have once again learned that private/charitable operations respond first and best (like Samaritan’s Purse) and government, with its top-down decision making, is slow, clumsy, and ineffective.
It doesn;t take long to build and it should have been built when it was needed.

Between the USNS Comfort, the Jacob Javits Center hospital, and the Brooklyn Field Hospital, those places could have taken all the COVID-19 patients released from hospitals, instead of deliberately sending them to nursing homes to infect others. Cuomo indeed does have blood on his hands.
And these same people want us to take them seriously about global cooling/global warming/climate change.
