I'll play this game. Let's get rid of all income tax and property tax (I hate "renting" from the government) and fund the government 100% with sales tax. That way everyone has skin in the game, including drug dealers, illegals, and "rich" people.

Well, you’re going to have to classify everybody earning over $20 thousand per year as wealthy.
Taxing the wealthy, as classified currently, would mean that the the federal government and most states and local governments, would have to shut down, since there would not be enough revenue for them to run their services.
A wealth tax requires a constitutional ammendment just like the income tax did.

I have taken unpopular views at times but your post sounds like it’s punishing the successful.
perhaps small businesses taking a beating while the big businesses got to stay open is not very fair

Until recently I never agreed with this but yes, we should tax wealth. I’m so sick of Bill Gates maybe if we taxed the Buffet would shut up.

Billionaires in the aggregate have no doubt gotten richer because they are more heavily tied to tech companies. Think Gates, Bezos, Musk, etc. And those companies have done well as people have adapted to the idea of working remote. It's not some dark conspiracy.
Besides, it didn't take much foresight to get out of the way of what was coming. I also have more wealth now than I had a few months ago, although I'm no billionaire.
Most billionaire fortunes are tied into large positions in companies. If they are officers, they cannot sell those positions anonymously. They must report their intent beforehand. And when an owner sells a very large position, it necessarily depresses the value of the entire company as other investors’ confidence may be shaken. If Bezos was forced to sell amazon, it’s unlikely would get the $110 billion his holdings say he is worth.
