Jadon Hayden, of Westland Michigan 48186, was a student (until today) at Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital where these assaults occured.
He’ll be out on bail in 72 hours.
All CNA’s (Certified Nurse Assistants) have at least one supervisor on the floor with them during that shift. Usually, A Shift Nurse will also be making the rounds, followed later by someone giving medications.
Are you telling me, neither the shift nurses or medication nurse noticed anything irregular? They are supposed to check the elder’s body for the usual things; bedsores from lying in one position too long w/o being turned, bruises, in case something is too tight or pressing against the patient.
The Personal Care must be properly done, and their skin should be cleansed afterward. A shift nurse is supposed to find out if this patient is doing a well as can be expected, or is their blood pressure suddenly higher than normal?
Are they acting nervous, or have they closed down completely and gone mute with flat eyes? The workers should know these things and document every encounter with that patient.
Somehow all this was allowed to happen, for who knows how long. It hurts my heart to know of elders being treated that way due to racism and stupidity.
I did some work like this many years ago, but didn’t like all the body transfers or dealing with all the personal care issues.
It sure would be a shame if that dude were to just disappear... What if Martians showed up and got him or something?

My sisters & I placed our mom in a nursing home. She was mentally disabled & admittedly a challenge to find anyplace that would take her.
While I saw no evidence of physical abuse, theft was a huge problem.
Despite our meticulous labelling, her clothing, nightgowns, brassieres & underwear always “disappeared” within a couple of weeks of purchase. When questioned, the supervisor claimed the clothes were lost in the laundry.
In her last 3 months a tape player, headphones & cassettes I’d given to keep her entertained, as well as money from her miscellaneous account must have been lost in the laundry, too.
When she died, the funeral director told us she was totally naked when he picked up her body— no nightgown, no underwear, nothing. Her Sunday church clothes, lipstick & eyebrow pencil weren’t there in her room, either.
All that stuff had been in her room when I’d been there a week earlier.
The employees had literally raided her room when she died, taking whatever they wanted.
When we requested her few belongings, her small TV was gone. All of her books (!) were returned; family photos were returned, but without their frames.
We’d intentionally put the photos in cheap plastic frames to discourage theft. Ha.
I cried when I had to go out and buy my mama clothes to be buried in. Those thugs left her nothing.
I took a new outfit to the funeral home. The director kindly allowed me to do her makeup.
I knew she’d be embarrassed & would fuss at me forever if I allowed her to be seen at her funeral without her lipstick & eyebrows.
Scumbags who abuse helpless old people should be subject to the same punishments as scumbags who abuse helpless children - both by the legal system and by prisoners.
Enough is enough. It’s past high time that closed system cameras are put in every patient room. Every month we see a new instance of elder abuse proving that certain minorities can no longer be trusted to care for white folk. And, obviously, social workers can’t be trusted to report on minorities or we wouldn’t have found out about this via self-posted video. Where is the DAILY shift nursing report that is supposed to document sudden, unexplained injury? Nobody noticed, nobody documented the bloody sheets coming into the laundry room? Nobody on the subsequent shifts noticed the bruising and cuts - not even in the meal room?
It would be a shame of this guy’s teeth were knocked down his throat in jail. But he’d deserve it. About the only thing worse than beating elderly people is beating babies.
