Rice tried to protect Obama, blame Comey for withholding intelligence from Flynn & Trump team

Blame-shifting. It is a Washington pastime. It also appears to be the reason why former National Security Adviser Susan Rice wrote her now-infamous memo, documenting an Oval Office meeting at which top Obama administration officials resolved to withhold Russia-related intelligence from the incoming Trump administration.

A key paragraph of Rice’s memo, previously redacted, has now been declassified and made public. Fox News obtained a copy Tuesday from the office of Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., which had sought access to the document.

The memo was written as an email “to the File” as Rice was leaving her office for the last time on Jan. 20, 2017, the day Donald Trump was inaugurated.

It seems that the purpose of the memo was to shift the blame to then-FBI Director James Comey for the withholding of Russia intelligence from the Trump team.

Rice’s objective was to absolve President Barack Obama of any blame for directing that Russia information be concealed from Trump and his incoming national security team, particularly Michael Flynn

< edit >

We are left to understand that nothing about withholding Russia intelligence was really resolved at the meeting, and to assume that nothing happened afterward that would have caused President Obama to do anything further.

Translation: If it came to pass that Russia information was withheld from President Trump, National Security Adviser Flynn and the incoming Trump team, blame Comey.

Of course, the palpable reason for concealing Russian intelligence from the new president and his national security team would be to obscure the fact that the Obama administration had monitored the Trump campaign and planned for the investigation to continue even after Trump took power.

That is not something an FBI director could have pulled off on his own. Counterintelligence investigations, after all, are done for the president.

Who writes a memo to themselves in the last hours of their job...

Except to cover up something?

This is precisely why I am cynical about Durham and Barr's so called probe into this matter.

Comey, Rice, Brennan, Clapper, Obama, Biden, et al. There is not an honorable one amongst them, and any of them would happily throw the rest under the bus to save their own skin.

The fact that none have done so (at least publicly) as of yet, makes me question just how much pressure they are feeling from any so-called investigation. If this was being looked into aggressively, I would think at lease one would have publicly tried to get out in front of the story, but to date, nada. These are morally weak characters and yet, it seems not one has been broken or even bent thus far, from which I can only conclude that nobody is really trying to bend or break them.

I hope I'm wrong, and perhaps there is far more going on behind the scenes than we know. I'll believe it when I see it.

Blame is also one of the least productive enterprises human beings can undertake. It solves nothing, and relies far too much on emotion in place of reasoned thinking, resulting only in high levels of anger and arrogance, at the expense of working out a resolution to the series of problems that life is always placing in the way of harmony and achievement.

“Pull your head out of your rectal orifice” is the admonition that most succinctly calls our attention to the excess of emotion that rules the lives of so many people. There is a world that exists outside one’s own consciousness, you know.

we all are hoping for a mass execution of justice, and things will have to get hot soon if the time line is to protect trump’s reelection.

when dealing with the deep state, the case has to be locked down tight, and giving political cover as obama and biden won’t be prosecuted unless blatant crimes has to be said.

Trump needs to watch some of that obamagate rhetoric to not jeopardize the proceedings, but i do enjoy it so...

Barr has been AG over a year. If he was going to move against the coupists he would have done it long ago. Instead he has done little but aid and abet them. Mueller’s thugs were invited back into the Barr DOJ and have never been held accountable for their prosecutorial misconduct. Nor Wray’s FIB for the missing 302.

The fact that none have done so (at least publicly)

And who would it advantage for them to go public.

Not the snitch. They value their lives.

Not the investigators. They value their investigations.

Given that, how do you know anybody hasn't provided testimony?

You don't. You're not on the need to know list.

I swear, you beyond the trees peoples....

Think.

There was a name cc'd on the email.

I forget who and what he is, though.

Not really. Standard prosecutorial techniques apply here. Roll up the low hanging fruit like the FISA forger. Put pressure on him to cooperate. Bring more indictments and force judges like Sullivan to act outrageously. That puts the coupists off balance and on defense. Instead, they’ve been free to impeach POTUS and assault his supporters at their leisure.

One thing to remember, Barr has spe m t the past four decades as an advocate of unchecked Executive Power. He is pretty much in the camp that “when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal.”

If Rice wanted to protect Obama, she did a lousy job. Her memo only proves the illegality of the “by the book” investigation. Since when do investigations have to be qualified in such a way? No, she new the dangers and chose to throw shade away from a fellow conspirator.

Why, because you say so?

Instead he has done little but aid and abet them.

Lie.

Mueller’s thugs were invited back into the Barr DOJ and have never been held accountable for their prosecutorial misconduct.

Never's not over yet.

Nor Wray’s FIB for the missing 302.

Because a thing hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't happen, yet.

You think as a small child thinks.

Damn. Why didn't Barr think of that.

I nominate you for AG, lodi. You'da had this all wrapped up in a neat little bow two years ago and the Derp State would be no more. What a wonderful plan.

Of course you took care of all the reasons it would never be that easy, right? In about a week? Cause you're so awesome?

Again, you speak as a small child speaks.

"And who would it advantage for them to go public...Not the snitch...Not the investigators."

The snitch and the investigators are not the only parties involved here.

These people all have dirty hands in this and they all know of their joint complicity. The deep state playbook is to seek immunity first in the court of public opinion. It is my opinion that if any of the players in this really feared the investigation, they would be overtly or covertly feeding the media (dis)information to distance themselves from the others. The fact that they are holding tight, and maintaining the talking point that the Barr/Durham investigation is a goose chase, leads me to believe they fear nothing.

Simply put, this was a tightly orchestrated coup attempt. They all know that if one goes down, the rest would likely go down with them. The fact that they are not turning on each other, suggests to me, their confidence that nothing will come of this.

Like I said, I hope I am wrong, but I'll believe it when I see it.
