LANSING, Mich. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gave an update Tuesday night regarding the states response to dam conditions and flooding in mid-Michigan.
A breached dam caused by several days of rainfall and rising water has forced the evacuation of about 10,000 people in mid-Michigan.
READ: Evacuations underway in mid-Michigan after Edenville Dam breaks Whitmer urged residents in Midland County to evacuate as soon as possible. She said both the south and west side of Midland had been evacuated.
Please, get somewhere safe now, Whitmer said. This is serious.
She asked residents to either go stay with a relative or friend. If they didnt have a place to stay shelters were made available.
The Edenville Dam, which was built in 1924, was rated in unsatisfactory condition in 2018 by the state. The Sanford Dam, which was built in 1925, received a fair condition rating.
Both dams are in the process of being sold."
I was a nuclear engineering intern at Bechtel Power Corporation in Ann Arbor in 1973 and worked on the Midland nuclear power plant project. That was the only reason I knew about what happened to the Midland power plant.
“shelters”?
i assume no more than ten per shelter will be allowed, right?

Palisades Nuclear Power Plant South Haven 800 Scheduled for closure in 2022.
Do any of these look like the one you’re talking about?
Yes, that’s just it. When you act like a dictator, people don’t take you seriously.
Of course, no one will admit it publicly
for fear of getting locked in their homes for God only knows how long...
Oh my God, I’m from Chicago and still have a lot of friends there.
I’ll call them tomorrow. Prayers for those who may be affected.
Do they have to wear masks? Are only essential people to be evacuated?
= = =
Exactly.
Nature sure has a way of exposing this fruitcake, plastic faced Gov.
Amen.
dam
When the danger passes and the waters recede, will she not let them go home, or will she order the evacuation to continue indefinitely regardless?
a house in Sanford.
This is serious.
After all the insane crap these tyrants have pulled, will the sheeple stampede for safety?
Dam it! I wish Gov. Witless would be under 9 feet of water. Now that would be good news for the state and country.
Only 6 people to a life raft or canoe or rescue boat. The rest will have to wait for other craft to arrive. Luv Gov. Whitless!
#18. Re “Noah’s Ark” in Gagetown, Mich. If they are in the path of any major flooding, I hope they have a lot of kitty litter/pans.
