Wearing masks and social distancing is ‘new norm’ in N.J., Murphy says

Even as New Jersey gradually reopens, residents will be asked to wear face coverings and practice social distancing until there’s a vaccine or effective treatment for the coronavirus, Gov. Phil Murphy stressed Tuesday.

“This is the reality,” Murphy said during his daily coronavirus briefing in Trenton. “We’re not mandating you wear a mask, but we are strongly encouraging you to do that, and staying apart from people. I think that’s the new norm.”

Murphy has started scaling back his near-lockdown orders in recent days as signs continue to show the COVID-19 outbreak in New Jersey is slowing and the economy continues to suffer. He has allowed state and county parks to reopen with social-distancing restrictions, permitted nonessential retail businesses to offer curbside pickup, and said beaches, boardwalks, and lakes can be open this summer with guidelines.

Under the governor’s orders, face coverings are required to enter stores and eateries that are open. They are recommended in outdoor areas.

On Monday, Murphy outlined a broader multi-stage reopening plan and said the state is currently in Stage 1. He didn’t provide hard dates for when stages 2 (additional activities allowed, with restrictions) and 3 (most activities allowed, with restrictions) will happen. But he said Stage 2 could happen within weeks if the downward coronavirus trends continue.

Through all of it, Murphy said, residents should wear face masks, practice social distancing, wash hands thoroughly, disinfect workspaces, and limit gatherings. No mass gatherings will be allowed.

Wouldn’t it be great if the “new normal” in New Jersey was no Democrats in office for 20 years?

Outside of a hospital or doctor’s office, wearing them either makes men emasculated or look like they are trying to relive their middle school glory days by trying to look tough in one of the ridiculous “scary” ones.

....

My sentiments exactly! It’s embarrassing watching men act like pu$$ies in front of their wives and girlfriends!

He has allowed..........

A phrase used a lot in connection with dem governors.

They're ALLOWING us our freedoms and rights again?

What are we?

Children? Serfs? Slaves?

Should we be groveling at their feet in grateful subservience?

Screw them. They don't *allow* or not *allow* me to do anything. They don't own me and they are not my mommy.

They are elected representatives, not elected overlords.

I was in a place of business recently that required masks to enter and yet when we went in, more than half the employees were NOT wearing said masks.

Nope. Your rights are gone forevermore. In their mercy, in their goodness of heart, in their benevolence they are granting their subjects if they continue to lick their boots in the approved servile manner the privilege to do certain things. And for this, they should be commended. And worshiped, and adored. And the phrase, "Oh king/queen live forever" is a required, upon penalty of death, greeting.

Masks also hold a high concentration of virus on them, as opposed to your breath dissipating into the air and particles falling to the ground where a virus quickly dies, so when you inadvertently touch your mask your hand now has a serious load on it as opposed to touching your unmasked face.

Well ain't that just ducky! Whenever I touch the mask to adjust it, I get exposed to viruses that would have dissipated.

To enter our local Costco, where I get my pharmaceuticals, one is required to wear a mask. The second I leave, I take it off.

I was being sarcastic but it was not intended to be sarcasm

There was a song long ago that had the words, "I got you where I want you and I am going to keep you where I got you. That is our betters attitude toward their servants.

When I see a “man” wearing a mask outside of hospital or dr. office I say Wooss, or Pussy.
I see them outdoors walking to their cars wearing a mask.
I see them riding a bike alone wearing a mask.
I see them in their cars alone wearing a mask....

This. I was about to say the same thing. #NewNormal seems to be the Democrat talking point during this Chinese disaster. The term is everywhere. I thoroughly reject it.

Do you know just how much satisfaction the fascist Dems get when they see you walking around with masks on, like whimpering sheep. It disgusts me to see all these meek, subservient beings walking around looking like frito banditos. The pacification of America one day at a time by fools with evil intent.

“AMEN. Tyranny like this is exactly why we have the Second Amendment.”

That’s just on paper and strictly academic...unless it is used. The American Revolution grievances were far,far less severe.

Soon as it hits 80° around here there will be masks blowing around the streets like tumbleweed.

Those masks somewhat stop the spread if you are symptomatic. They do little to prevent you from getting it.

This is mostly fake, just a bad flue season.

The mask is a public symbol demonstrating your willingness to comply with arbitrary government diktate.

I put heather and lavender oil on my bandanna mask last week. Some genius suggested this... Worked high as a kite all day.. almost ran myself through an industrial mixer.

I was quite active in my church. I played bass in the worship team and did some sunday school teaching as well as jail ministry.

I just had a long back and forth with my pastor. They are re-opening Sunday but masks and social distancing are the rule.

To break seven long emails into the reader’s digest version, I told them to let me know when it is business as usual and we will return. Problem is that the masks, for me, are like distractions are for Adrian Monk (for those of you that have seen the TV show). All I will see and hear is people walking around with useless masks because CNN has convinced them that an imaginary threat is real.

At one point he told me that if I cared about the elderly acquiring this virus I’d understand. The problem is that all the arguments for masks, social distancing, closing down businesses, etc., can be made regarding the flu.

And as Christians we are supposed to have faith in our Lord. This isn’t the plague. It’s the flu.

On a side note, my friends cousin (62 years old) just died of pneumonia and bronchitis. It was listed as a CV 19 death.
