On Friday, Trump fired the inspector general of the State Department, Steve Linick. In accordance with the 2008 Inspector General Reform Act, which protects inspectors general from being fired without cause, Trump informed Congress in writing about the intent to fire Linick, expressing that he no longer had the fullest confidence in Linick, who was appointed to that position in 2013 by Barack Obama.
Democrats naturally have come out of the woodwork to express their faux outrage, and to launch an investigation into the firing over allegations that Trump acted to protect Pompeo.
But where were these Democrats in 2009 when Barack Obama fired the inspector general of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), Gerald Walpin?
Gerald Walpin was in the middle of an investigation when he was called by White House counsel Norman Eisen, who informed him that he had an hour to resign or be fired. This was in violation of the Reform Act, which Obama co-sponsored as a U.S. senator. Walpin refused.
After Walpins refusal, Obama wrote a letter to Congress, giving the following explanation: It is vital that I have the fullest confidence in the appointees serving as Inspectors General. That is no longer the case with regard to this Inspector General.
But heres what really happened.
Gerald Walpin had been investigating Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, a former NBA basketball star and Obama supporter, for misusing federal grant money from AmeriCorps. The program was created by the National and Community Service Trust Act of 1993 and grew to over 80,000 members. Program participants received benefits such as student loan deferment, living allowances, health benefits, career opportunities and training, and so forth. The program has done some good but has also been plagued by waste and corruption.

So stopping the IG from investigating serious crimes in a presidential administration is precedented, you say. And that’s why Trump has fired half a dozen of them so far. Excellent.
“FLASHBACK: When Bill Clinton Had 93 U.S. Attorneys FIRED IN ONE DAY”
But that was then and this is now.
Walpin called for Johnson to be criminally prosecuted. Instead, Johnson was able to get a sweetheart deal avoiding prosecution if he paid back the money. This deal was approved by Alan Solomont, a major Democratic fundraiser who was also the chairman of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).
Walpin was furious about the deal and made it known, prompting his illegal firing. Following the firing, the Obama White House waged a smear campaign against Walpin, making bogus allegations that he appeared “confused, disoriented and unable to answer questions,” and exhibited “behavior that led the [CNCS] board to question his capacity to serve.”
In 1932, America elected a king; in 2008, a god.
Obama was going to protect a celebrated black basketball player, especially if he was a corrupt and grifting Party member.
I remember this episode. Obama’s crew mounted an assault on the IG they wanted to fire, painting him as senile and incompetent by peppering him with aggressive and irrelevant questioning in some made-up hearing. But, that was all an excuse for achieving the desired end, which was “Free KJ!”.
It was like an early Benghazi tactics rehearsal, where they had the video fall-guy all lined up in case they need an excuse some day, and used it badly.
Really? Surely grassely and mitt were all over it.
Republicans were out in force demanding to know why this corrupt president was doing this....OH,wait.....
If we had real journalists, virtually every historical “fact” and every action taken by Dorkbama the muslim eunuch quota fake would a bombshell. He is capable of nothing because he has no ability whatoever. His “legacy” is a list of lies, failures, and crimes.
Still waiting, LOL.

The obnoxious forget that until 2011, Republicans were not in charge of any committee in the House or Senate.
Okay, okay okay. I was wrong again.
Doing your job is a bad thing only if you are a republican.
