Barr Says He Does Not Expect Criminal Investigation Of Obama or Biden As Result Of Durham Probe
Fox News ^ | 05/18/20 | Brooke Singman

Posted on 05/18/2020 10:03:26 AM PDT by Enlightened1

Attorney General Bill Barr said Monday he does not expect U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review into the origins of the Russia probe will lead to a “criminal investigation” of either former President Barack Obama or former Vice President Joe Biden -- while noting that their concern of “potential criminality” in the conduct of that probe is “focused on others.”

arr, during a press conference otherwise focused on the December 2019 shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola, spoke at length about the Durham investigation. He said he has a “general idea” of how the investigation is going and confirmed that “some aspects are being investigated as potential crimes.”

Barr did say, however, that “not every abuse of power, no matter how outrageous, is necessarily a federal crime.”

“As for President Obama and Vice President Biden, whatever their level of involvement based on what I know, I don’t expect Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” Barr said. “Our concern of potential criminality is focused on others.”

This comes after both Obama and Biden -- the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee -- have faced heightened criticism from Republicans for any potential role in the early stages of the probe. Trump last week even called for Obama to be summoned to testify before Congress.

The politically explosive environment -- bringing the country into uncharted territory, with a former president accused by critics of involvement in a political probe related to his eventual successor, and the sitting president now essentially calling for retribution against his predecessor -- has built ever since the DOJ moved to dismiss its case against Michael Flynn.

It appears Nixon was right all along. If the President does it then it’s not against the law.

He said there will be an accounting of some sorts. At this point I will take it. Having the idea that Biden/Obama were somehow going to be dragged before a Grand Jury was a pointless exercise in futility and actually plays into the hands of the left and the media - i.e. - Trump is targeting his political opponents via his DOJ.

So we are still afraid of the media instead just doing what's right.

I'm not dismissing the rest of your post. Just pointing out the bottom line what you think we should do and the reason why we should do it.

Yes, sedition is still a Federal crime.

I think it applies here also. However, our nation is so divided along partisan lines that we have a choice -

We can have each opposition party administration target their predecessors or we can stop it now and let history (and the voters) render judgment against Obama. Biden has basically said he is running for the 3rd term so put it all out there and let people see it for themselves.

It’s one or the other. If Barr went after Obama it would be just as dangerous as what Obama did to Trump with his DOJ. It might be justice, but the ramifications moving forward would be extremely dangerous as to some extent “justice” is often applied by whomever is holding the gavel.

I don’t know what will happen after today, but I do know a very careful man who knows far more than me or you just flatly stated it was all BS. He would not have said that unless he could prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.

Does this mean Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Rice, McCabe, Strozk, Page, and the other members of the cabal will face charges for sedition as they should? I don’t know. However, Barr moved the ball today. Watch the media howl, but you cannot spin what he said and Barr will have to prove his statement. He would never have said it otherwise.

Keep dreaming....

You are engaging in wild speculation and wishful thinking.

Furthermore, I do not think Barr would be telling the public this, and then still charge Comey for a lesser crime. This is because it would hurt the public’s trust of the DOJ vs. announcing the charges now.

Again I am 99.99% infinity that I am correct.

History will be the judge of Obama and Biden.

“History is written by the winners, so it largely depends on who is writing the history”, said Barr, just the other day.

The purpose of laws is to encourage societal behavior by adding consequences and penalties for bad behavior.

The phase “throwing the book” at them was to raise the idea that some bad actors need to be made an example of, so that others will not follow the same path.

The Deep State, has done many evil things and they need to have some examples of what happens when a government employee does things that are deeply wrong, that are counter to the laws, and harm a free democracy.

Some (most) of the wrongs committed by the Deep State in trying to swing the 2016 election by spying on Trump, by setting up misinformation campaigns (Steele document), and resisting the President Trump in trying to implement policies he was elected to implement, deserve criminal charges, while others deserve loss of job, pension and career.

"And put whom into that position?"

It's not an insurmountable problem. Someone who wants to see Obama dangling from a tree.
He needs to never have been in Washington, DC, except to go to the museums.
Someone who actually believes that honesty keeps you out of jail.

Now, find all that, in one person, with the will to plug a Democrat's wedding tackle into a wall socket to get the Truth... They lie, you know.

Once you get one to confess, the rest will rush to rat each other out.

Oh, and when he finishes, he wants to go home, and fish.

I don't think such a man exists, but I can dream...

The first place to start with this is to reveal the truth.

The lack of established facts in a non-partisan manner is what has allowed this farce to drag on for almost the entire first term of a duly elected President.

I am not afraid of the media - I think they are going to be exposed as the partisan hacks they are. However, they have driven the narrative for years because we lacked the facts. They made this all up because their democrat masters told them to and “Orange Man Bad.”

The truth will expose them all so that is the most important thing that can happen. Barr pretty much promised that today with his flat condemnation of what occurred because he would never have said it otherwise.

“Rush the other day and he said don’t expect Obama to be in trouble because in this country we just don’t go after ex-presidents...it could become a continuing blood bath if we did.”

The democraps went after Nixon. It Ford pardoning him to stop it.

Either the Clintons, or Obama, or both are threatening these people and/or their families with death, and the threats are serious.
We KNOW the Obama, Clinton, DNC cabal had Scalia murdered hopping to replace him with a ‘progressive” before the election in 2016.
This is far more than some corrupt members of a political party, this is a crime family.

Nonsense. It will cost Trump votes for not upholding the rule of law.
