I'm all for encouraging young peeps (and really all folks) to not smoke. Tobacco or anything. It damages one's health in truly horrible ways.

That said, banning menthol is unlikely to have a positive effect on the number of teens starting to smoke. Although I'll bet that statistics can be juggled to show the measure to have been a huge success.

Don’t know about England but in America “menthols” were black peoples choice for smokes. Might be a bit of racism behind this choice to ban just this type of cigarettes (not that anyone should smoke, it’s a gross habit)
