Trump threatens to cut 'whole relationship' with China

--

NEW YORK -- U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that he is currently not on speaking terms with Chinese President Xi Jinping and that Washington could go as far as severing the "whole relationship" with Beijing if trade relations do not improve.

We should up the ante.
Quietly send 50-100 nukes to Taiwan.

You got it wrong.......

What does Di Fi know and how long has she known it?

Regarding the Driver. The Netflix TV show Rake tells us that the association of government drivers actually ran the government of Australia.

“So how do you ban all trade with China?”

Just require all shipments from china to be inspected for viruses and fentanyl. Only do the inspections at one port. Only hire one union inspector. Make sure inspector has a FMLA condition.

They were “good friends” just weeks ago. Even when we pretty much knew the source of the virus. What happened?

It is right to run them out but it is perilous for all of us not to be on speaking terms.

Full trade embargo is warranted.

What happened?

Trump probably has received direct evidence that, after the initial lab leak caused mass death in Wuhan, CCP agents deliberately spread the virus to the West so China wouldn't go down alone.

It was an act of war, but not as clear to the public as Pearl Harbor. So Trump has to figure out how to disengage from China without destroying the business interests of his base - including the tens of thousands of American small businesses who manufacture products there. A hard cut-off would hurt the GOP base a lot more than the net benefit recipients under Grandma Pelosi's wing.

Unless trade relations improve? What does that mean, they only bite off the tips of our fingers instead of going halfway to the elbow?

You raise an interesting point about Trump.

The most fascinating thing about Reagan was and will always be his innate understanding of the USSR. Conventional wisdom said he was wrong. Our intelligence agencies said he was wrong. The media said he was wrong. Our allies said he was wrong.

In the end, he was right about the fragile nature of the communist stranglehold on the USSR. He instinctively understood the weakness of communism and the flaws. While China is in much better shape financially than the USSR was in the 80’s, they too have weaknesses and their international brand has never been as tarnished as it now is.

We will see how this plays out because Trump has the same instincts that few acknowledged in Reagan. It is a dangerous and high-stakes game.

“Potentially dangerous time depending on how Xi and the CCP react.”

Their arrogance and their belief in the inevitability of China dominance of the world will drive them toward more and more dangerous responses. There was a time during which they would retreat into the tall grass, and wait for a better time. They won’t do that now.

The left is quite all right with communist imperialism and Islamic imperialism. And in some parts of Africa a bit of each.

The so-called antiwar crowd of the 60s fully embraced militant communism being pushed in by the Soviet union and China.

If the deep state aided China in developing, it was still made in China with the knowledge of the ChiCom government.

Agreed.I am *absolutely* convinced that every Chinese national in this country is engaged in some kind of spying. It could be commercial, political or military. Some are willingly doing so and some, very possibly, are coerced (”we know where your Grandma lives”).

So does that make Bill Gates the top donor to the WHO? He had been the number to donor behind the United States and ahead of other countries.

The deep state repeatedly tried to get Reagan not to use the “tear down this wall” line.

There was the video shot by the couple buying up thousands of masks to send to China as the outbreak was occurring.

There is a video of super spreaders touching every item in electronics stores and spitting on elevator buttons.

I wouldn’t go to say that every Chinese national is a spy or agent provocateur but there were people acting on behalf of Chinese nationalism.

Even the CBS correspondent seems to be loyal to mainland China.

How does that square with Tucker Carlson’s report last night that Trump is about to restore funding to the WHO?

Hey, Roger appreciates the money...

Deliberately spreading it, plus the saber rattling in the South China Sea, plus the sub off the CA coast, is probably why.

“It is a huge gamble in the game of international chess that Trump is playing, and the end objective and result will be to break China, much as Reagan broke the Soviet Union, by forcing them to spend themselves into oblivion and bankruptcy.”

Well said.
