The idea of the government forcing medication on people is an abomination. I do not care what party or official is involved. I have no doubt that if Obama had proposed vaccinating all Americans folks here would have been outraged.
Donald Trump is not my doctor and not my daddy. The war is lost when conservatives want government to forcibly medicate people.
President Trump said the vaccine would be available for those who wanted it and said it was not mandatory. He is getting this out fast so we can get back to normal and open up. When the argument came up that many people also die of the flu and the country doesn’t shut down it was countered with the argument that there is a vaccine for the flu. We have a vaccine for the flu every year and many people choose not to take that either. This way they can’t push the narrative we can’t open up because we don’t have the vaccine.
Yeah just what needs to rammed down our throats, a rushed vaccine that is not really tested and will not work. Are you going to take it? All Government Officials First!

I doubt very much that President Trump wants everyone to get a vaccine for this virus. I honestly believe that President Trump is purely playing the game/politics. If I was him, I would do the same. The stock market went green with this announcement.

Their skepticism is probably justified.
They may well have a point, but it is the first time I’ve seen the entire class of Democrats willing to admit that government is not very good at things.
Democrats aside, I’m a little skeptical too. Not about the crash research effort, nor about the efficacy of vaccination in general. But, mistakes are made, especially under time pressure; and, big money is involved for the vaccine producers.
However, I’m skeptical for entirely different reasons than the Democrats are. I’m hopeful, if cautious, rather than opportunistically and politically opposed because if might work.
I wish conspiracy nuts would just STOP mentioning Gates. I loathe Gates going back to the corruption & illegal activities at Microsoft in the 80s & 90s. There should be a special place in hell for him for foisting Windows on the world. I also loathe his love for abortion. That said, vaccines are a critical & effective tool of modern medicine and I'm tired of the paranoids & anti-vaxxers.
