Where we are the store has just put up lots of orange signs advising everyone “social distance”
Ha ! This !
Ha ! This Too !
Tried going the wrong way in Walmart. No problem. Just checking.
baa, baa, baa......
Have they taken down those annoying aisle blocking displays? Im guessing no.
==========+=======
Our local Weis did. Walked around ten minutes or so with that “something’s different” vibe. It finally dawned on me the aisles looked so much bigger. Then, at last, I realized there was so much room because all those annoying cardboard displays had been removed. A silver lining!
what arrows? never saw em. /s
= = =
Where I was, the arrows were only at the entrance end of the aisle.
So I did not find out I had gone the wrong way till I exited that aisle and saw it then.
I was inadvertently a woman also going the wrong way.
I don’t think anybody was paying attention until it was way too late
Hallelujah! Not surprised to see that common sense is coming from the private sector which actually has an interest in listening to customers. Let’s see if the Gov has a hissy fit over it.
Surely you jest - "you coward" !! LOL!!
If anyone's wondering about the "you coward" comment, that's what Wold calls anyone who goes against his insane Covid-19 decisions. He is using the full force (criminal and civil) of the state government to prevent any attempt to re-open PA outside his permission. The emperor will take your business licences, your occupancy licenses, stop state to county and locality support (money) and directs authorities to cite, i.e., fine unobservant citizens and businesses as they see fit.
Like other blue state governors, the man thinks he's a king. His choice of Health Department director Rick/Rachael Levine, speaks volumes about his values and judgement.
They had small signs on the floor of our local Walmart, but nobody paid attention. In fact, the signs were so small I didn’t even notice them until I was ready to leave. Not too many Karens in E. TN.
I was at my local Kroger recently and noticed the one way arrows on the floor that nobody was paying attention to....LOL!
One way accomplishes nothing. You walk into the breath exhaled by the person in front of you. That is no better than walking into the breath of the person who just passed you going in the other direction.
While I’m at it, the 6 foot waiting line distance is stupid. The person in front of you breathes out for a few minutes, filling the air space around him with his CO2. Then it’s the next person’s turn, and each person moves dutifully into the air space just vacated by the previous person. Unless the line is outside, or there is pretty strong air evacuation, this is a joke.
I think you miss the point.
The point is not preventing Covid 19
The point and primary reason for the distancing and traffic flow is to prevent negligence law suits. American Lawyer Trash are worse than the Covid 19 disease.
That includes defense lawyers who feed at the tort trough as well as the plaintiff ambulance chasing riff raff
So I did not find out I had gone the wrong way till I exited that aisle and saw it then.
You can always walk backward down the aisles. Sure to confuse even the most ardent one-way vigilantes.
A few years ago our local Giant made lots of the aisles more narrow, to get more shelf-space. It makes it almost impossible for two shopping carts to pass each other; forget about ‘social distance’.
Well good for them!
Personally I refuse to buy anything vendors put in those aisle blocking displays. My local store even uses them near and in the enter and exit lobby - sometimes so much that disabled people and motorized wheelchairs have difficulty getting in and out of the store.
Anytime I see them going that far I call the manager and tell them theres two way traffic here and this is a bridge too far with your dang displays, and point out how difficult he is making it for his elderly and disabled customers to get in and out with shopping carts or wheelchairs. I even bring him to the lobby to show him what Im talking about just to make sure all the customers are overhearing me complain so that he will relent and at least make the displays not overly intrusive.
Those displays are near the top of my list of pet peeves - even above cashiers who build pyramids with bills, receipts and change - and then expect you to use one hand to retrieve and distribute that to wallet and pocket without it all dropping on the floor while you have to hold your bags with the other hand.
I don’t care about one-way traffic, I only care about the idiots who clog the aisle taking 5 minutes to decide what they want when everyone else has a list and could just grab their items and go.
In the Wal Mart Grocery section I walk down an aisle in the posted direction. Get to the end and proceed to the next lane over and that lane is marked the same direction as the one next to it.
Two adjacent lanes marked with the same direction. I think the employees at Wal Mart are having fun.
