Donald Trump has ratcheted up his “Obamagate” conspiracy theory to implicate Joe Biden and other former White House officials in what critics say is a desperate attempt to distract from the coronavirus pandemic.
Ric Grenell, the acting director of national intelligence, on Wednesday sent Congress a list of high-ranking Obama administration members he alleged were involved in the “unmasking” of retired general Michael Flynn, in intelligence reports dating from the presidential transition....
Unmasking is a routine practice used to identify a person anonymously referred to in an intelligence document. It takes place hundreds of times a year, without controversy.

I have heard several leftists trotting out the line - It’s routine, the Trump admin has unmasked over a thousand Americans blah blah blah. What cannot be ignored is that many of the poople on that list have nothing to do with the intel community. Ambassadors who are ambassadors only through donations are on that list. How in the hell does that happen??

He was being unmasked before the phone call happened. Also there were no unmasking requests from Dec 29 to Jan 4—the time between the Flynn-Kislyak calls and when Obama/Biden were briefed— an implication that Flynn’s name was not masked to begin with.
OK, unmasking requests have to be made in writing......and signed by the requester............Joe Biden.

Tucker laid out a scenario tonight that had the Obama admin going around the FISA process by having the NSA forward any communications with Flynn involved sent to the WH, Once there they were unmasked via requests using a variety of individuals. This would explain why some of the folks on that list seemingly have zero to do with the intel community.
Also McDonough is on that list to Keep Obama’s name off it.

The point being the call happened on 12/29. There was no request to unmask the name of an American on a call that supposedly was picked up on Kislyak’s end. Yet there was a meeting to discuss Flynn and the call on 1/5.
So who was being spied on by our intell community, Kislyak or Flynn?
