Rep. Thomas Massie and Lunatic Farmer Joel Salatin talk about how regulations have created a system that allows just four companies to handle all the meat processing in the US. If you want to buy some fresh meat from a local farmer, thats illegal, not for reasons of safety, but to protect the interests of these giant corporations.

We have family that buys a cow and has it butchered.
Massive and Gohmert are my two favorite congressmen.
I buy both pork and beef from two local farmers, who process their meat a local, family-run slaughter house. The father and son running the place are true artisans.
With what I have seen these past weeks, I will try to never buy meat from the big corporates again. Its a monopoly, which screws both American farmers and consumers when trouble arises, and being good globalists, while they cant export meat processing, they instead bring in the poorest-of-the-poor from abroad to work in their plants. The workers’ families then go on the dole.
Im not going to be part of that any longer.
Massie recommends it but says not everyone can afford it:

Get local meat and go carnivore.
I bought half a freezer beef last week on the hoof.
We also have a local butcher where you roll a cart right in the freezer and just pick what you want from burger, steaks, roasts, pork, chicken, smoked meats, etc. Very nice.
Why is Salatin a lunatic?
I raise my own with a friend, we call our self hobby farmers, we keep a 3 cow rotation and it works perfectly.
Probably just a nickname :)
I believe I heard Sen. Grassley say he will introduce a similar bill in the Senate. Trying to confirm.
I believe Iowa and some other states have greatly relaxed their restrictions on custom processing.
Wyoming have done it under the 10th Amendment.
I see. It came from the youtube description. I guess he calls himself that. https://www.thelunaticfarmer.com/
I’ve known about him for a while. Ex-lawyer turned farmer. Feeds a whole lot of people without using chemicals.
Haven’t heard of him before. Thanks for the link.

Need more states to do the same.
Which other ones have?
Makes it easier for foreigners to buy those companies.
We are in an era of “Legalized Robber Barons.” It’s the kind of thing that happens when lawyer get elected to make our laws. It’s an automatic conflict of interest.
None that I know of.
The WY law is basically what Massie is trying to pass in the House and makes it National!
I used to do that at the fair every year the 4H club auction off cattle and pigs I would buy a steer and have it butchered stocked my freezer for the entire year!!
