The problem with ignoring it is then the media narrative of a couple good olds white boys hunting down and murdering an innocent black jogger stands unopposed. We can hope the truth wins out but I still have meet people that believed Michael Brown had his hand up saying don’t shoot. Lies must be met with truth.
I get that. And to some extent I wouldn't disagree.
But the current "discussion" is an attempt to find out the "truth". Was he a burglar? Did he attack someone who was holding a gun? Was the shooting completely gratuitous? Golly, let's explore and find out "what really happened".
My point is that is never matters. The media still wants to believe that Trayvon Martin was murdered by a racist. The media still wants to believe that Michael Brown was murdered by a cop.
The goal is to make a blanket judgement about groups -- all young black men are innocent and all white men are racist. Pick a news event and twist it until you can tell that story of the bad white men and the evil thing they did.
Exploring it and finding out "what really happened" doesn't get you very far. At least in the national media.
I say it should be kept at a level of several people having an encounter and somebody did something stupid. It has no greater meaning than that. Take it to a court room and quietly find out which person did the stupid thing.
I don't need to see a national discussion about "race" based on this incident -- because I already know the outcome of that discussion.
Amen. There’s enough leftist MSM sensationalism and race baiting going on that people have to fight to get the truth out. If it turns out that the two elderly whites murdered in Delaware recently by a young black man were targeted because he allegedly made social media posts about being angry over the Arbery case are true, then the media is complicit in stoking racial hatred.
