I realize the CA GOP can’t find the front door at noon, but they ought to find a way to make a serious challenge for every elected office in every district that doesn’t touch the ocean.

Election 2020: Garcia leads Smith early in L.A. County’s 25th Congress race

https://www.dailynews.com/2020/05/12/election-2020-garcia-snags-lead-over-smith-in-early-25th-congress-returns/

EXCERPT...
But after a highly competitive race, which had already drawn a huge turnout relative to past stand-alone elections in the state, that result was still in question on Tuesday night.

Ventura County planned to post only its vote-by-mail returns on Tuesday night, not its in-person results. L.A. County, where several centers enabled voters to vote in person, was posting results from early vote-by-mail ballots received before Tuesday. Then, the registrar will post results from Election Day in-person votes. The rest of the votes will be counted through the remainder of the week.

The registrar has until June 1 to certify the election.

Nearly 12% gap now

Mike Garcia Rep. 78,701 55.9%
Christy Smith Dem. 62,054 44.1

Also

Jennifer Medina
Tracking data shows a significant voting gap along generational lines. Roughly 56% of voters 65 and older returned a mail ballot. Just 19% of those younger than 35 did so. See Calif. 25th results

Jennifer Medina
There’s a voting gap along ethnic lines, too: While 40% of white voters returned their mail ballots, only 21% of Latinos did so.

The GOP also won the LA part of the district!!

It’s LA County, not really LA. Includes a Nice suburban area in Valencia extending North about 60 miles into the High Desert - out to Edwards AFB. The desert is mostly conservative, but in the last 20 years, many Section 8’s have moved up there due to the low rent.

It’s difficult with new CA election law - top two vote winners square off - not done by party. If only ONE Republican runs in a primary, and multiple RATS are on the ballot, they might have a chance

In certain areas of the country mail is not delivered to a residence but to a post office box holder. Any ballot so addressed should not be allowed because the recipient’s resident citizenship cannot be proven.Any such ballot not containing the voters address should be challenged .

Democrats are going to be staying up late tonight figuring out how to cheat so they can win this election.

I really expect all kinds of strange boxes of ballots and legal challenges to the election, plus smearing the Republican winner. Just like after Trump won there was a Resist movement and protests, expect the same in California and the US House of Representative. It would not surprise me to see Nancy P to attempt to bar the seating of the Representative from California.

Most people don’t realize how big LA county is. Like 9 million people - bigger than the entire population of Denmark.

And it wasn’t close at all...double digit win for the Republican. That article claims the race is so close we would not know who won for several days. So much for their ability to project an outcome.

With the beaches closed they should be able to take districts that touch the ocean as well.

Not really LA County... is correct. Lots of direct and indirect military influence. More inclined to look for honor and accomplishment than pork.
