House coronavirus aid bill would pay off student loans

The $3 trillion coronavirus aid package Democrats introduced Tuesday calls for the Treasury to make payments of up to $10,000 per student loan.

The proposal, which Democrats plan to vote on Friday, calls for Treasury to make student loan payments until September 2021. Any unused portion of the $10,000 would be applied to the outstanding loan balance if it’s not reached by the 2021 deadline.

Senate Democrats earlier this year proposed the cancellation of student loan payments during the coronavirus pandemic in addition to wiping out at least $10,000 in student loan debt.

These guys are swinging for the fences. How about something for the states? Illinois is at least $200 billion in unfunded pension liabilities. Lots of hungry mouths to feed.

I’d give them the $5 million for the laptops an wifi network. They probably still have infected stuff left over from the arab IT team.

I sacrificed buying many things to save up to pay off my student loan debt. I knew what a loan was when I got it. Why do so many seem to think they can “borrow” money and not pay it back? They are the elites wanting everyone else to serve them.

Ancient Chinese proverb: All debts are eventually paid, if not by the debtor, then by the creditor.

Can we get the Supreme Court to dust off their old ruling that dis-allowed line-item vetoes by the President, and reconsider the case?

This is on my HELL NO list.

It cost over $40,000 a year to goto my undergrad university and I paid off my student loans. They can figure it out like the rest of us did.

Its time we start demanding that Congress give up its paychecks for the duration of the crisis.

Most of them will never get the virus and they sure aren’t suffering financially like 10’s of millions of their fellow countrymen are.

Only if they fund this 100% with a tax on college endowments!

I did without many things during my collegiate years. And yes, I also worked while in school.

At the end of grad school, I owed about $250, which I was able to repay before the year was out.

Paying the loans for students who were not as responsible as was I is a slap in the face to this veteran who worked hard in school and asked little when I was there.

These may be some of the worst days of American politics. The left does not hide the fact that they intend on killing this country.

They have such nerve compared with the wimpy GOP.

After Gingrich and the GOP takeover, Rush said “I think the Republicans are uncomfortable running things. They like to complain on the sidelines and tell voters we couldn’t do anything. When they have the adult responsibility of being in charge, they chicken out.” (paraphrase).

Then Rush said “The Dems act like they are always in charge. Even as a minority they demand things and get them. They are always confident and vote together as a bloc. Then the voters put them in charge again and they get things done for their side time after time.”

No to paying down the student loans, they know how much they were borrowing to get their history or some other stupid major degree. Pay it off.
