Central Pa. diner reopens for dine-in service despite stay-at-home orders

The Round the Clock Diner in York has reopened its dine-in restaurant, despite Gov. Tom Wolf’s stay-at-home order.

York County remains in the red phase of Pennsylvania’s reopening plan during the coronavirus pandemic. Even restaurants in counties that enter the yellow phase are still limited to take-out and delivery only, the state’s plan says.

“The reason we opened is obviously to get back to some normalcy,” Christos Sacarellos, a family member of the diner’s owners said.

Sacarellos said the response from customers has been “overwhelmingly awesome” as people are just happy to get out. He said the restaurant is following social distancing guidelines, spacing open tables, limiting the number of guests to less than 20 or 30 percent of the occupancy.

I live in Washington Co. in SW Pa.

We have had few cases.

I don't knowof anyone that has even noticed or abided by the "stay home" order".

I think what is needed is massive civil disobedience.

Some fed up restaurant and bar owners just opening up and loyal, patriots will come.

Is York considered central Pennsylvania?

Yes. Sometimes as "south central" but yes central PA.

DJT would be even better....less than an hour from DC for Marine One.

It’s a bit past Harrisburg...near Gettysburg and can be considered south central PA

Is York considered central Pennsylvania?

You be the judge:

York in on the Maryland border, about halfway across the big eastern "Red Zone".

god bless the owners of this diner...

York County PA is a bedroom community for Baltimore workers (I-83) - cheaper taxes.

Did you see where a Colorado diner opened on Mothers Day contrary to the governer's house arrest orders? They also had an overwhelmingly positive response. Didn't matter.

One male Karen by the name of Chris Fuselier called and had the diner shut down and their license taken away. Chris owned a rival place. Now Chris is being hailed as a hero by a fawning media and leftists in Denver and the Castle Rock diner he narked on is shut down.

‘Is York considered central Pennsylvania?’

it is considered that, but in reality it is not...real central PA starts at Franklin County...

This sort of thing is inevitable after the length of the shut downs. Trying to control the opening of the spigot starts a cascade that soon can’t be controlled. The increasing number of “law breakers” will cause police to join them, rather than be against the people.

The increasing number of “law breakers” will cause police to join them, rather than be against the people.

York County District Attorney Dave Sunday announced on Saturday that his office will not prosecute criminal citations for violating Governor Wolf's orders.

Cops can "advise" and only advise.

They did show up at both RTC locations on Sunday when Karens complained...and "advised".

Heh.
