New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo forced nursing homes to take in people with coronavirus, killing thousands of people. But the media don’t care. As The New Republic notes, “If a media darling has emerged during the coronavirus crisis, it’s Cuomo.”
Around 5,000 deaths from COVID-19 have been reported in New York nursing homes. Cuomo’s administration forced nursing homes to take in people infected with COVID-19. That caused the virus to spread like wildfire in densely-populated, understaffed senior facilities. Cuomo said it was “not” his “job” to help them get the protective equipment to handle the sick people they were forced to accept. As a result, COVID-19 spread to other nursing home residents, many of whom died.
Yet Cuomo has received fawning coverage from the media. The governor, The New York Times’s Ben Smith wrote, “has emerged as the executive best suited for the coronavirus crisis.” Journalist Carl Bernstein told CNN — where the governor’s brother Chris is an anchor — that Gov. Cuomo has demonstrated “real leadership of the kind the president of the United States should have provided to the American people throughout this crisis, but hasn’t.”
Cuomo dismissed warnings against his deadly policy. Last month, he was asked by a reporter if anyone had objected to New York’s policy of forcing nursing homes to admit recently discharged COVID-19 patients. “They don’t have the right to object,” Cuomo answered before the reporter finished his question. “That is the rule, and that is the regulation, and they have to comply with it.”

A Republican in NY on tucker last night said she is looking into a possible federal investigation into this. She said cuomo is going to do his own investigation with his hand picked AG latisha James, let us know how that works out for these poor families. Lets hope she contacts all of the 5000 families who’s loved ones where slated for death by an arrogant despicable Governor who could give a sh## about your mother or father and lies to your face about it and get this ball rolling. He needs to be removed from office

The NY AG is always more corrupt than the governor. The last AG had to resign in disgrace. Then they put someone in that was worse than him. The AG has to be someone loyal to the deepstate who can cover up all the democrat crimes, and go after all of their enemies- Even including President Trump.

That move by the Gov was so egregious it is hard to not believe it was deliberate and aimed for the outcome it had.
Killing innocents is a resume enhancer for a Democrat. Bill Clinton with his greedy actions allowed HIV infected prisoners to donate blood to hemophiliacs in Canada and the action wiped out over 50% of the hemophiliacs in Canada through HIV.

More Monday morning quarterbacking. People want to blame Trump, blame Cuomo, blame Dr. Fauci and on and on. No one expected this and based on the limited available information, tough decisions had to be made (though I thought the NYS executive order allowed the homes not to accept back a patient IF the home did not have the capability to deal with a Covid-19 case).
If you want to blame someone please blame China and the WHO.
Well, you’re right, China and their lap dog the WHO should get the lion’s share of the blame.
Cuomo still made an unforced error, and should be held to account for it.
And you watch those dumb sumbitches reelect that prick.
Check the executive order and determine if a home did not have the capability to deal with a Covid-19 patient who left the home and went to hospital, then the home had the option not to accept the Covid-19 person back.
If the answer is no, you might be on to something. From what I have read, the homes had the option.
Good grief, Trump has made mistakes along the way too and so had his folks in his administration. But it’s not their fault and they all should be commended for the lives they saved.
As far as I am concerned, this whole thing squarely lies at China’s and the WHO’s feet and no where else.
The Javits Center has 2,400 beds and the hospital ship was good for another 1,000. It take a special kind of stupid to be your average politician.
So this is where Carl Berstein is. Supporting Cuomo who is responsible for thousands of people dying while slandering Donald Trump who has killed no one.
Berstein parents were communists who did not care about the 100 million plus dead so what are thousands of people dead to their commie son.
This is why we need billions in campaign donations as the Democrats get tens of billions of dollars in free media.
