DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) It was last month when 39-year-old Marcus Hawkins started feeling sick.
What started with sinus issues progressively got worse.

The morning I woke up on the 16th I went to the restroom, came back and sat on the side of the bed and was breathing funny, he told CBS 11. I knew something wasnt right.
He was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with COVID-19.
Going to the restroom Id take two steps and Im gasping for air, he described.
Marcus Hawkins recovered COVID-19 patient who took Remdesivir (CBS 11).
Dr. Lauren Hoffman with Methodist Dallas Medical Center treated Hawkins.
He was very, very sick, Dr. Hoffman told us. Had he worsened any further we would have had to send him to the ICU and intubate. Thats why when the hospital got involved with clinical trials for Remdesivir, she knew Hawkins would be a prime candidate. Within a day of treatment, the doctor noticed a turnaround.
He looked so much better, his spirit improved, his oxygen levels also improved.
Hawkins is one of about 33 patients and counting whove received the anti-viral. Dr. Parvez Mantry,
The Executive Medical Director of Research for Methodist Health System oversees the trials.
We have seen a remarkable degree of improvement in the majority of patients using Remdesivir, Dr. Mantry said.
The drug is given through and IV and right now is only available to those in the hospital.
We were able to treat a lot of them successfully, and fortunately a lot of them have been discharged home back to their families, said Dr. Mantry.
Hawkins is among that group. Four days after being given the anti-viral, he was able to go home. He credits his faith and Dr. Hoffman.
I was trying to get to her level of spirit because her spirit was high every morning, or every evening she came in.
This is just one of several trials Methodist Dallas is doing.
Theyre also using convalescent plasma therapy at all four Methodist Health System hospitals.

nah...CBS..not reliable.
Unproven. Anecdotal. Every other adjective used to describe HCQ.
Could be good news, despite the hefty cost....but there’s a lot of similar results from folks getting the HCQ/Zinc/Z-Pak treatments...with the main HCQ ingredient being about 50 cents a dose vs. $1K a dose (on top of required hospitalization for treatment....).
I guess it’s true, there really is a balm in Gilead
How can you accuse them of profiteering when they donated their entire stockpile? Seems weird, no?
Well played.
We heard the same stories about HCQ. There was a guy from Florida who said he started feeling better within hours of taking HCQ. Woke up around 4am to find his fever completely gone. Laura Ingraham interviewed him. Expect to hear a flood of “miracle” stories about Remdesivir that will outdo anything you heard about HCQ.

Yep, and none of these miracle Remdesivir stories will ramble on dismissively about it only being anecdotal and many large scale, placebo controlled, double-blind clinical studies will be needed before any valid conclusions can be drawn.
How can you accuse me of accusing them of profiteering - I just pointed out the projected costs...donating the entire stock, at this juncture, is a super exhibition of goodwill and an astute business move but I wouldn’t expect that to be a long-term strategy. If it turns out to be as effective as one might hope, then it is smart to get enough out there to give it a good test...part of normal R&D costs for any new drug.
More good news. I hope this and the use of the anti malaria drug cocktail keeps saving people’s lives.
It was reported 200,000. Doesn’t matter, mere flash in the pan to what they seek which is forced vaccination of all human beings on the planet. IOW a publicity stunt.
400,000 doses is a drop in the bucket compared to the number of doses that will be purchased full retail should it become the drug of choice.
This marketing technique is a form of seeding. Kind of like chumming the waters.
Are they hyping how sick he was just to ‘prove that remsivider is the only drug that works’?
Doesnt sound any more effective than hydroxychloquine and zinc. Avg of 3-4 days for it to do the same thing.
[[Expect to hear a flood of miracle stories about Remdesivir that will outdo anything you heard about HCQ.]]
Yup=- exactly- and expect not to hear about HCQ much anymore either- the msm won’t report on it

So, I’m seeing you more as a checkers player... than as a chess player. Do you think Costco is just giving out all that free food because they are really nice guys?
Donate 400,000 doses so they can sell 40,000,000. It’s called a free sample. They do it at Sam’s Club and Costco too. Well, probably not anymore but they did pre-coronavirus.
