CARSON CITY — Even as some elected officials and conservative groups push back against the state’s coronavirus shutdown, a majority of Nevadans give Gov. Steve Sisolak a passing grade for his management of the pandemic and support a measured approach for reopening the Silver State’s economy, a new statewide poll shows.

The Nevada Poll™, conducted for the Review-Journal and reviewjournal.com by WPA Intelligence, found 64 percent of Nevadans support Sisolak’s approach to the pandemic and his handling of the shutdown of nonessential businesses across the state, compared with 28 percent who disapprove.

The poll surveyed 500 likely voters in Nevada from May 2-5, with party demographics of the respondents mirroring Nevada’s voter registration breakdown of 33 percent Republican, 38 percent Democrat and 29 percent as nonpartisan or third-party voters. Its margin of error is 4.4 percentage points.

Sisolak is certainly not as bad -- as tyrannical as some, but not for lack of trying.

I have to think he is getting heavier-by-the-day pressure from ... well ... families with "financial interests" in those giant hotel/casino resorts in Las Vegas and Reno ...

As long as the money is flowing to the unemployed, there will not be any poll that shows the government needs to open up. There is a simple remedy: we are open, you don’t want to go to work, don’t. No money coming. So, either put your book down, turn of the View and get back to work or stay retired on your dime.

I go hiking every day around Reno, haven’t seen a mask in three weeks in the parking lots or access roads to trails.

It would appear that the healthy seek each other out combined with the cops not chasing us up a mountain. I’ve seen a couple of fed places closed but to my knowledge all the state and county parks have remained open.

Sissy and local news said some businesses might open before Saturday, we’ll see. The frightening thing is being surrounded by CA, OR and the rest in the western pact, that is an economic death sentence.

Hmmmm. Working front yard yesterday and someone out for a walk passed by wearing a mask. Maybe they were high risk? I am, being 70+ with an auto-immune condition but thinkin' outside might be okay. Winco, a few masks. Home depot a few. Mrs rktman said Lowes folks were masked up. Saw folks driving masked up yesterday. 😐

To be sure the difference is stark between the low-information types and people that know when the MSM bloats statistics and big government.

Have seen people driving down the e-way, or talking through a mask on a cell phone in a parked car, that kind of thing that suggest these people are low IQ individuals.

Indeed in the big boxes about half are masked up, these people actually think that their homemade mask (dirty, germ and spit-covered) will actually help them when in reality it is the other way around. They have no idea that viruses are measured in nanometers and by comparison the weave in these fake masks are big enough to drive a bus through.

We are stuck with about 150,000,000 of these morons in the country, wish us luck!

LOL! Yeah, we ventured into North Valleys walmart the other day and not many masks being worn. If we wear them it’s to keep our germs confined to our mask and not spray the aisle. Yeah, the little rascals will sneak out. It ain’t like it’s a HEPA filter. Stay safe. From whatever.
