Joe Biden is the apparent Democratic presidential nominee. After all, he had a seemingly insurmountable lead in delegates going into the rescheduled August convention in the postponed Democratic primary race.
Biden was winning the nomination largely because he was not the socialist Bernie Sanders, who terrified the Democratic establishment.
Biden was also not Michael Bloomberg. The multibillionaire former New York City mayor who jumped into the race when Biden faltered and Sanders seemed unstoppable. But Bloomberg spent $1 billion only to confirm that he was haughty, a poor debater and an even worse campaigner. He often appeared to be an apologist for China and seemed clueless about the interior of the United States.
The least offensive candidate left standing was Biden. Many Democratic primary voters initially had written him off as an inept retread, a blowhard and an impediment to the leftward, identity-politics trajectory of the newly progressive Democratic Party.
On the campaign trail, Biden insulted several voters, using insults such as "fat," "damn liar" and, weirdly, "lying dog-faced pony soldier."
Long ago he spun tall tales about how in his youth he had taken on a Delaware street gang with a 6-foot chain or slammed a bully's face into a store counter. More recently, he taunted President Trump with tough-guy boasts about taking him behind the proverbial gym and beating him up.

I’ve lately heard polls that put Biden ahead. So what’s the problem? The gut who the polls say is leading is an albatross? Funny kind of albatross...
I actually think this is why Trump is playing it frustratingly safe with the reopening.
The Dems don’t have a viable candidate. Joe is a senile sex criminal. Cuomo scrooooooood the pooch on COVID. Hillary has not become one bit more likeable, Bernie is Bernie, and Moochelle will get no quarter on disliking America or her $300K job shifting indigent minorities away from her hospital.
Trump is confident in his base and economic recovery. Maybe too confident in the latter. So he is trying to appeal to the nervous nellies suburban female vote. It’s become his safest re-election strategy.
For the first time ever, IMO, VDH gets it entirely wrong.
Biden was always a set-up for the eventual nominee, and the comrades running in the primaries all knew it (including Bernie). The splitter strategy was brilliantly manipulated to produce exactly what exists now: a Biden who cannot be the nominee.
There is one candidate and one candidate only who could ever unite the various factions, and that is Big Mike. Even the Bernie Bros will not protest that installation.
The Big Mike campaign has been running in the “background” all throughout the primaries, all focused on the eventual Phony Narrative to be unrolled in the fall: BM is just as smart, probably smarter than Hilldebeast, but BM is a world historical figure beloved globally who will bring peace and unity to an America torn apart by an Evil Orange Man.

As fraudulent and ridiculous as this plan is, it is the best the DemoKKKrats have, and many many millions of Americans will be euphoric at the opportunity to say they voted for Big Mike.
