A top donor to President Trump and the Republican National Committee will be named the new head of the Postal Service, putting a top ally of the president in charge of an agency where Trump has long pressed for major changes in how it handles its business.

The Postal Service’s Board of Governors confirmed late Wednesday that Louis DeJoy, a North Carolina businessman who is currently in charge of fundraising for the Republican National Convention in Charlotte, will serve as the new postmaster general.

The action will install a stalwart Trump ally to lead the Postal Service, which he has railed against for years, and likely move him closer than ever before to forcing the service to renegotiate its terms with companies and its own union workforce. Trump’s Treasury Department and the Postal Service are in the midst of a negotiation over a $10 billion line of credit approved as part of coronavirus legislation in March.

This is going to send my Trump hating brother-in-law employed by USPS (I can't call him a post office worker) POSTAL. I hope to enjoy every minute.

Is not the Postal Service administered by the Executive Branch?

I can’t stand the SOB and only tolerate him because of my sister. But she made the mistake of trying to argue politics with me the other day and now I think we are on the outs, she stopped responding to my comments and emails.

I predict that by the end of Trump's second term the USPS will be gone. Bankrupt and out of business.

I understand completely. My eldest daughter no longer speaks to me or her mom or her brothers. We are all very Conservative, Constitutional Patriots. I’m retired military. 30 years.
She went to college at UC Berkeley and hasn’t been the same since. She became an unhinged leftist. Her former husband she met in college, an engineer, took a job with a defense contractor and she demanded he quit the job or she would divorce him.

The old joke for years was that the Washington Post used to report everything with "poor and minorities hardest hit".

Now not only is it the richest man in the world hardest hit, because he'll have to negotiate a price for using the post office that isn't at a rate subsidized by taxpayers, but that means hardest hit is also the owner of the Washington Post who is writing this story!

Businessman 'Louis DeJoy named Postmaster General', giving president new influence over Postal Service. His history of turning companies around and experience in the industry certainly qualifies him....Good pick from what I've seen...

unnecessary funded by ads that fill up my mail box.

Has at time slots money.

Delivery companies can handle mail in states where they have business licenses. Of Mrs Jone sup in the hills call, you have to give her service once a week. No daily mail deliveries or pick up.
