Bible in a Year:
The Spirit intercedes for Gods people.
Late one Saturday afternoon, my family and I stopped at a local restaurant for lunch. As the waiter set crispy fries and thick burgers on our table, my husband glanced up and asked his name. Then he said, We pray as a family before we eat. Is there something we can pray for you today? Allen, whose name we now knew, looked at us with a mixture of surprise and anxiety. A short silence followed before he told us that he was sleeping on his friends couch each night, his car had just quit working, and he was broke.
As my husband quietly asked God to provide for Allen and show him His love, I thought about how our go-between prayer was similar to what happens when the Holy Spirit takes up our cause and connects us with God. In our moments of greatest needwhen we realize were no match to handle life on our own, when we dont know what to say to God, The Spirit intercedes for Gods people (Romans 8:27). What the Spirit says is a mystery, but were assured that it always fits with Gods will for our lives.
The next time you pray for Gods guidance, provision, and protection in someone elses life, let that act of kindness remind you that your spiritual needs are also being lifted to God who knows your name and cares about your problems.
Is there anyone you can pray for today? How might you respond to temptation differently if you knew that the Holy Spirit was praying for you during the struggle?
Jesus, I thank You that temptation has no power to separate me from You. Please give me victory today through the power of Your resurrection from the dead.
Hi!
God Bless America.
Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Evening, Kathy! Hope you’re still well!
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Any movement in your state?
Things are opening up here, but the idiot Anchorage assembly, all dims and progs, have extended the emergency hunker down order til June 6th. People are NOT pleased. Hope our governor will speed things along.
No fires permitted, but 2 in town in the last 3 days...homeless camps, that the mayor loves. None of the rules seem to apply to them...and the mayor just loves spending on them.
Good evening, Biggirl .are you able to get out and about yet?
Our “hunker down” order was just extended a month...GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

Hai Kathy! (((HUGS))) Well still here in Denver. The high seniority pilots are getting the routes and I also default to the married with children crew as well. I’m on standby/reserve down from a line pilot but that’s okay, I still get basic pay so there is that. If nothing comes up in another week I’m heading home and wait for the call. OTT all’s well.
Been raining today, but had previously on very recent past days been out.
Good evening, mountainlion...did spring stick around?
I can imagine the rain and mud and jungle.
Can you get out at all yet?
Was today the day the gun range re-opened?
Hope you had a good day.
Can you get out at all yet?
No, the road is OK but I don’t want to go anywhere. The weather is much warmer though.
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...you and Penny go for a hike?
You and Blue get any bonding time?
We hit mid 60s today!
Good evening, Mooch...still hanging in and all is well.
Still working from home and homing to make it permanent.
Are you able to get out at all?
Good evening, Janey ((HUGS))...at least you are getting basic pay. Do they pay for you to stay in Denver on standby?
Are some of your buds still there? And can you get out at all?
Hai! Ya, buds still here and we (OMG) congregate with each other! We host our own parties. I get per diem and hotel room I share with another crew member while waiting. If nothing happens soon, I’ll find a jump back to Seattle and wait at home.
