Sean Hannity Wrong on Armed Michigan Protestors
American Thinker.com ^ | May 6, 2020 | Daniel John Sobieski

One of the constitutional freedoms liberals are trying to use the Wuhan virus pandemic as an excuse to shred is the Second Amendment’s guarantee that our right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. There is no asterisk indicating an exception in case of pandemic, so when law-abiding gun owners show up to protest a government’s attempt to infringe on their rights, why should they not show up with the weapons the government is trying to curtail their use of, even take them away if the liberals could. Which part of “bear arms” does Sean Hannity not understand?

Hannity, who likes to count on his fingers when talking over his guests, repeating endlessly the same shopworn phrases, took to task protestors who showed up at Michigan’s state capitol to protest against Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's draconian stay-at-home orders, including the deeming of gun and ammo shops as nonessential as liberal governors and mayors nationwide release felons to the streets. The ever-modest Hannity opined that their bad optics was in fact hurting their cause:

Hannity, I have now concluded, is now a totally compromised cretin.

I mean, he always *was* an idiot. During his voice-over commercials on the radio, you could tell he was reading from a script, which is a big no-no for radio commercials.

But I thought you could even tell on the radio that his lips were moving when he read silently...

I am not a Swan Vanity fan, nor ever have been. But he is right in this case. They acted like morons and hurt our cause (and theirs), and made Chancellor Whitmer an object of sympathy.

But 99.9% of FBI agents are patriotic Americans “which is why I wear this pin...” (Despite the apparent fact that none of them came forward to report illegal behavior on the part of the FBI, of course.) Hannity is so full of “it”!

Yeah, he’s dead wrong on this one.

Exactly!

There were already a ton of listeners who hated his delivery but kept listening because they appreciated his views and his reach. Once he loses those, he could be in bad shape.

He is not the only “conservative” who joined Team Lockdown, and I say the hell with all of them.

Hannity has gone full GOP establishment. His tip toe through the tulips interviews with Graham are nauseating.

Hannity is only correct insofar as it allows our Governor Witless and her mainstream media allies to spin this. Maybe at the next rally everyone should show up with nerf guns and super soakers, watch her media minions spin that.

The author needs to read up on the art of public relations. This should be common sense but he’s too stupid to see it.

A major point being missed here is that you have these so called RW crazy radicals armed to the teeth at GVT building which are supposed to be Gun Free Zones (except for GVT security).

There were no shooting, no mass murders, in fact no shootings of any kinds. It was a peaceful show of force to the GVT and was no threat to Americans.

Hannity’s a typical talking head who runs his mouth incessantly, but only goes so far. He fails to point out the fact that none of them actually violated any LAWS - and fascistic edicts don’t count. Sometimes we have to go beyond the “safe and comfortable” and let wannabe tyrants know that we have our limits, which is why we have a SECOND AMENDMENT, which was almost the FIRST.

“”No one should be attempting to intimidate officials with a show of force, and God forbid, something happens,” the host continued. “Then they’re going to go after all of us law-abiding Second Amendment people.”

Yes. We should all just wait until they knock on our doors to confiscate our guns. Much safer that way.

Do I need a sarc tag?

This was not one of Hannity’s finer moments when he harangued about the protestors carrying their guns.

Hannity tried to make the point that it was not good ‘optics’ and it would inflame the leftist media against the protestors.

Well, it seems the leftist media goes to bed inflamed and gets up in the morning inflamed. If we keep inflaming the media, just maybe one of these days the media will spontaneously combust.

i heard this too and thought sean has jumped the shark. he thinks being armed is bad optics, but being armed is being free, free to assemble and free to speak.

the other side had their weapons and riot gear, sean should listen more.

He is controlled opposition. He never “goes off the reservation”. Remember how he was going to get to the bottom of the seth rich murder, and then never mentioned him again?

I don’t think the Michigan protesters should have brought rifles. They should have rolled up some 105 Howitzers.

The intimidation of government officials and judges wouldn’t be necessary if they properly understood what the 2nd Amendment is all about. Is it: a) Hunting? b) Sport? or c) proper defense/self-defense including soft/not so soft reminder to potential tyrants about who’s in charge?

Sean thinks if he kisses the butt’s of the rank and file that when the FBI comes for him he will be protected. Foolish notion.
