New Glarus to dump 5,000 to 10,000 half-empty kegs for farm fertilizer in coming weeks
Thousands of barrels of beer are being dumped or reused across Wisconsin because of the state shutdown, and more beer dumping could be happening soon.
"We've heard of some distributors, some bars, larger breweries, with bigger distribution networks having to dump beer. And it's like dumping a little piece of your soul down the drain," said Tim Pauly, co-founder of Broken Bat Brewing Co. in Milwaukee.
Broken Bat Brewing just moved to a new location, so all its kegged beer is still fresh, but the clock is ticking.
If the stay at home order prevents them from opening their new tap room much longer, it will be dumping, too.
"There's a lot of blood, sweat and tears that goes into making beer, and it's part of you. It's what we create," Pauly said. "If we're really not allowed to have people through the next couple of months here, we're in trouble."
"We knew that if bars and restaurants shut down, we wouldn't have a market for keg beer," said Drew Cochrane of New Glarus Brewing.

I read at the source... These beer brewers are lying to themselves if they think that dumping their beer on a field will be any kind of meaningful fertilizer.

Good. We hate that Beotch who owns New Glarus Brewing. A total egg-sucking Lib who wishes all Conservatives were dead. She posted a recent tweet telling us that she hopes we all get Coronavirus and die!
I’m willing to stay locked up in my home for the entire YEAR if that beotch goes broke and loses her business.

I told that to one of my buddies up in the UP of Michigan and he fainted.
I’m ignorant about the beer business.
But, can they salvage any of it, by canning and bottling? I’m thinking that the beer they normally sell to bars and restaurants to serve on tap, is the beer that they aren’t able to distribute at this time.
Don’t blame this on me. I’ve consumed, hoarded, drained through my system on my trees. I’m working my rear off, apparently there’s some hide in the basement slackers that can’t consume and wear a mask at the same time. We are Americans, so get off your asses.
