TRAVESTY! Pro-life activists ordered to pay Planned Parenthood over $1.2M for exposé on baby body parts scandal

A federal judge has issued an order demanding that a group of pro-life activists who were behind a series of undercover videos taken at Planned Parenthood facilities and abortion conferences are liable for more than $1.2 million in damages.

U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick of the Northern District of California released an order Wednesday against individuals connected to the Center for Medical Progress.

At issue was an Unfair Competition Law claim brought by Planned Parenthood and the plaintiffs California Business & Professions Code.

Orrick ruled in favor of the claim, citing a jury verdict from last November that found CMP, its founder David Daleiden, and activists including Troy Newman of Operation Rescue guilty of violating several laws when investigators went undercover at Planned Parenthood facilities and events.

In addition to issuing an injunction banning those named from attending Planned Parenthood events, Orrick also found them liable for large sums of money.

This includes $1,259,370 in damages related to Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, plus other damages and attorneys’ fees.

“… the illegal and fraudulent prongs of the UCL are satisfied given the jury’s verdict that defendants engaged in numerous illegal and fraudulent acts in California and emanating from California, against California-based plaintiffs and others, committed in violation of California law, Federal law, and the laws of other jurisdictions,” wrote Orrick.

In a statement released Thursday, Operation Rescue noted that Newman intends to appeal the order, arguing that he and his fellow pro-life activists did nothing wrong.

“It is no longer in dispute that Planned Parenthood sold aborted baby parts for profit and that our video evidence was authentic. They admitted it during our trial,” Newman said.

“Now Planned Parenthood wants us pay a price so the world could find out the sordid truth of their illegal babies-for-cash scheme.”

In 2015, CMP released a series of videos showing Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers violating the law, including profiting from the sale aborted babies' limbs, tissue and organs.

Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood's senior director of medical services who performs abortions up to 24 week gestation in Los Angeles, was captured in one video filmed at a restaurant on July 25, 2014, saying that clinics perform partial birth abortions to secure fetal body parts. She also detailed how they alter abortion procedures to procure limbs and organs, despite the risks these manipulations my cause to the woman's health.

"We've been very good at getting heart, lung, liver … I'm not gonna crush that part," says Nucatola. "I'm going to basically crush below, "I'm not gonna crush above, and I am gonna see if I can get it all intact."

The undercover videos prompted a wave of pro-life activism at the federal and state level, with pro-abortion critics claiming that the footage was edited to falsely smear abortion providers. However, complete video footage was released to show that none of the videos were selectively edited.

Daleiden, Newman, and other pro-life activists connected to the undercover videos have since found themselves dealing with years of legal battles over their actions.

Since Clinton signed the National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act of 1993, “fetal-tissue research” has expanded into a federally subsidized multi-million dollar industry of selling human spare parts salvaged from abortions.

For example, the NIH budgeted $21 million in fiscal year 1999 for grants and awards for fetal tissue research. At the University of Washington, the NIH subsidizes the central laboratory for human embryology.

According to a lab notice obtained by WorldNetDaily, it “can supply tissue from normal or abnormal embryos and fetuses of desired gestational ages between 40 days to term. Specimens are obtained within minutes of passage, and tissues are aseptically identified, staged, and immediately processed according to the requirements of individual investigators.” The notice is signed by Alan G. Fantel of the department of pediatrics.

At the time, two organizations that profited from this growth industry were (the now defunct) Opening Lines, a business formerly located in West Frankfort, Illinois...... and Anatomic Gift Foundation, headquartered in Laurel, Maryland.

Opening Lines publicly gave credit to President Clinton for opening up the lucrative business in fetal tissue trade. According to Opening Lines, on January 22, 1993 (the infamous anniversary of legalized abortion---Clinton is not without an in-your-face governing style), Clinton lifted the moratorium on federal funding. “This action created a great demand for fetal tissue and has made possible the development of treatments for individuals afflicted with serious diseases and disorders,” says the Opening Lines sales brochure.

Both companies served as wholesalers for the marketing of baby body parts to researchers, drug companies, hospitals and universities. These groups harvest the baby parts from abortion clinics and ship them to their customers.

Opening Lines provides fetal tissue researchers with a “fee for service schedule,” which gives prices for each body part. For example, Opening Lines charged:

<><>$75 for 8-week-old baby's eyeballs (40% discount for a single eye);

Planned Parenthood’s 2016-2017 annual report says its affiliates performed 321,384 abortions in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2016. It also says Planned Parenthood received $543.7 million in government money in the year that ended on June 30, 2017 — which included the first five months of the Trump administration.

Planned Parenthood takes money from federal taxpayers primarily through Medicaid and the Title X Family Planning Program. In 2012, according to a Government Accountability Office analysis cited by the Congressional Research Service in a May 2017 report, Planned Parenthood affiliates received “$400.56 million in Medicaid reimbursements (including both federal and state dollars)” and “$64.35 million in Title X funding.”

Three days after he took the oath of office, Trump took an action that caused the International Planned Parenthood Federation to deny itself aid from the U.S. government: He re-instated President Reagan’s Mexico City Policy.
That policy, as summarized by CRS, “required foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) receiving U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) family planning assistance to certify that they would not perform or actively promote abortion as a method of family planning, even if such activities were undertaken with non-U.S. funds.”

The day Trump reinstated the policy, International Planned Parenthood announced it would not comply. “It means IPPF will lose $100 million USD,” the organization said in a press release.

ut the Mexico City Policy does not stop federal Medicaid and Title X money from going to domestic Planned Parenthood affiliates — the affiliates that aborted 321,384 babies in the United States in fiscal 2016.

In May, when Trump sent his budget proposal to Congress, it called for completely defunding Planned Parenthood. The White House put out a fact sheet reminding Americans this was a “campaign promise” the president had made.

“The budget also follows through on a campaign promise and prohibits any funding in the Labor-HHS appropriations bill for certain entities that provide abortions, including Planned Parenthood,” said the fact sheet. “This prohibition applies to all funds in the bill, including Medicaid.”
The Obamacare repeal bill that passed the House, but not the Senate, included language that, according to the Congressional Budget Office, would have denied Medicaid money to Planned Parenthood for “a one-year period following enactment.”

The 1,658-page combined appropriations bill the House passed in September — but the Senate never voted on — included language that would have completely defunded Title X of the Public Health Service Act and thus denied Title X money to Planned Parenthood. It said: “None of the funds appropriated in this Act may be used to carry out Title X of the PHS Act.”

But the spending bills this Republican Congress has actually passed — and Trump has signed into law — have not defunded Planned Parenthood.

In fact, Trump and this Republican Congress have cooperating in enacting five sequential laws to keep the federal government funded. Trump signed the first on April 28 and the most recent on Dec. 22. It will expire on Jan. 19.
All five of these spending laws have permitted federal funding of Planned Parenthood to continue.

If Planned Parenthood has been aborting babies during Trump’s first year in office at the same pace as it did in fiscal 2016 (878 per day), it will have aborted 233,548 babies in the 266 days that will pass between the day Trump first signed a federal spending bill that permitted funding of Planned Parenthood and the expiration of the current one.

These places are hotbeds for potential sexual abuse. The lowlife abortionist has already sold out his conscience. BACKGROUND Legislation was presented on the federal level and in various states called the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. It stated all live-born babies were guaranteed the same constitutional right to equal protection, whether or not they were wanted.

BAIPA sailed through the U.S. Senate by unanimous vote. Even Sens. Clinton, Kennedy and Kerry agreed a mother's right to "choose" stopped at her baby's delivery. The bill also passed overwhelmingly in the US House. NARAL went neutral on it. Abortion enthusiasts publicly agreed that fighting BAIPA would appear extreme. President Bush signed BAIPA into law in 2002.

But in Obama's Illinois, the state version of BAIPA repeatedly failed, thanks in large part to then-state Sen. Barack Obama. It only passed in 2005, after Obama left. Obama articulately asserted that legislation protecting live aborted babies might infringe on women's rights or abortionists' rights (The very same judicial reasoning used to approve dismemberment of aborted babies).

In 2003, as chairman of the next state Senate committee to which BAIPA was sent, Obama stopped it from even getting a hearing, shelving it to die much like babies were still being shelved to die in Illinois hospitals and abortion chambers.

With the recent multi-state expansion of Planned Parenthood corporate organizations in states with favorable abortion laws into states that make abortions difficult, I think that some RICO lawsuits against PP are in order.

PP is clearly an organized, multi-state, criminal operation. The RICO laws were designed to destroy such organizations both by civil suits and governmental action. It is well past time for PP to pay the piper with the blood money they have collected.
