It looks, at first, like one of a zillion unfunny video clips that now circulate on the internet: Once Upon a Virus features cheap animation, cheesy music, and sarcastic dialogue between Chinarepresented by a Lego terra-cotta warrior with a low, masculine voiceand the United States, represented by a Lego Statue of Liberty with a high, squeaky voice. They speak in short sentences:
We discovered a new virus, says the warrior. So what? says the Statue of Liberty.
Its dangerous, says the warrior. Its only a flu, says Statue of Liberty.
Wear a mask, says the warrior. Dont wear a mask, says the Statue of Liberty.
Stay at home, says the warrior. Its violating human rights, says the Statue of Liberty
The dialogue goes on like thatIt will go away in April, the Statue of Liberty says at one pointuntil it ends, finally, with the statue on an intravenous drip making wild and contradictory statements while the warrior jeers at her.
Although this looks like an Im-bored-at-home amateur production, it is not: The video was published on April 30 by Xinhua, the official Chinese news agency. It has since been promoted by Chinese diplomats and watched, as of yesterday afternoon, by more than 1.6 million people around the world.
It has also been mocked and denounced as crude propagandawhich, of course, it is. Crude propaganda is what Chinas leaders do, both at home and abroad, and since the pandemic began they have stepped up their efforts. But even those who are mocking should beware: Anybody who knows any history will be aware that propagandaeven the most obvious, most shameless propagandasometimes works. And it works not because people necessarily believe that all of it is true, but because they respect the capabilities or fear the power of the people who produced it.

To those of us who have been following Leftism since before WWII, those types of names rightly set off alarm bells.
I had to laugh, The Renew Democracy Initiative published in its "inaugural" publication in 2018: Fight for Liberty: Defending Democracy in the Age of Trump
Wow. This is my surprised face
It’s pure propaganda.
And any “ally” who “laughs” at it is no ally indeed.
Exactly. Sure beats the days when I had to buy Utne Reader or The New Republic to find out what they were up to. Got some old copies of Pravda too.
Another leftist non religious Jew spouting her sick opinions. Why when they are such a small portion the population of the country are they so prominent in the media? I really have nothing against Orthodox and ultra Orthodox Jews who are god fearing people. Non religious Jews are mainly progressives who do more harm to society than good.
Typical liberal gibberish, always coming up with the lamest of cheap shots.
Who is we? Do they know you speak for them?
Shove your propaganda and your BS rationalization.
Stalin WAS smart and rational. That’s what made his evil worse than the monster madman Hitler’s evil. Two monsters
RE: Do you enjoy posting leftist propaganda?
Do you want to KNOW about leftist propaganda?
LOL! He is correct as usual. I love how he skewers reporters during what Madame Nancy Pelosiette terms his daily “show,”. It drives Madame crazy that he has an actual audience who are eager to listen to his briefings on the Coronavirus. The “Chinese virus,” or “Wuhan virus,” as he so politically-incorrectly says. :)
There was a joke told in the Soviet Union about Stalin:
Stalin appeared at a ceremony to recognize a town that achieved the goals of the recent five year plan.
While he was speaking, someone sneezed. Stalin stopped, and called out "Who sneezed while I was speaking?"
No answer.
Stalin pointed to the people in the front row and said "Shoot all of them in the front row."
They were marched out against a wall and shot.
Stalin said "Now. WHO SNEEZED WHILE I WAS SPEAKING? SPEAK OUT OR I WILL HAVE THE SECOND ROW SHOT!"
A tremulous, sobbing female voice from the back said "It was me, Dear Leader...it was me!"
And Stalin said "God bless you."
There was a movie that came out a couple of years back called "The Death of Stalin". It was supposed to be a dark comedy, but when you read the account of Stalin's death...it was pretty much factual with some humorous dialogue thrown in.
To say that Stalin was not a madman begs the question of what really caused the deaths of tens of millions of his own subjects during his reign of terror.
Wrong president. The world was laughing a Barack Obama for eight years. President Trump has brought a mountain of respect back to the U.S. presidency.
Laugh on.
Meanwhile, who is speaking out with hope, and leading their people and dominating the news every single day?
Macron? Johnson? Merkel? Putin? Xi?
All laughing?
I only wish Anne Applebaum had been welded into an apartment in Wuhan, with her terrified family.
But to people like Anne Applebaum, each of those tens of millions of people murdered by their own government (not to mention those imprisioned and tortured) was just an egg to be broken in the making of an omelette.
People like her make me want to puke.
And yet, look how he died.
Terrified and shaking his fist at an invisible entity.
(Throw in Kathy Griffin as a wild card.)
Wake up, sheeple--we are under ATTACK
And our most destructive enemies are Governors with a "D" behind their names.
The modus operandus of North Korea for quite some time now.
