This pathogen cannot be prevented from causing illness and death by the measures being taken. The only thing being accomplished at this point is the continued destruction of the economy... which is obviously has become the real goal. Democrats believe that they can win the next election by creating as much hate and discontent as possible.
It was about POWER that governors and mayors didn’t have before.
Now, the toothpaste’s out-of-the-rube, and will be used again, whenever they desire to take it out of the “Dictator Jars” on their office shelves. Gun control comes to mind, as do other scenarios.

Something else people are forgetting about besides “flattening the curve” we were also buying time to come up with some effective drugs and get closer to a vaccine.
My God, he slurred lesbian women? I think he may have been talking about dikes, the ones in Holland that keep the ocean out, and the story about some boy who tried to plug multiple leaks with his fingers. Not dykes, a slur against gay women. What a ding dong.
I wonder if the math skills of the average citizen are so poor that they draw a blank with the term “flatten the curve.”

Everything was done out of an abundance of caution, and everybody tried to out-caution everybody else. All because of IF. If this, if that, if if if. It’s the same type of argument against guns, except most people won’t let themselves be tricked that way about guns. But an apocalyptic scenario with dead bodies lining the streets, that is an if nobody wanted to see, so they decided to do the most cautiously abundant thing they could think of. There are a lot of otherwise very enlightened people even actual freepers who are all too ready to argue for quarantine based on a very unlikely if.
How much time are you willing to give?
If we shut down the economy to come up with a cure or a vaccine for AIDS, we’d all have starved to death by now.

That is BS. A cure and a vaccine were never part of the “flatten the curve” equation. Why because we have never had a Corona virus cure or vaccine and there have been plenty of Corona viruses. The fabled vaccine is now being held out as either 1. An excuse for Chicken Freepers, who are at home collecting government checks, to keep themselves safe by continuing to keep everyone else locked down. Or 2. A post defacto justification by Chicken Freepers for their support of tyranny.

Nope...it was ALL about “flattening the curve” and, if there was any “time buying”, possibly to scale up ventilator procurements. Lots of hysterics were flying about on the coming bed and ventilator shortage leading to unnecessary deaths —- and it was all due to Trump’s negligence. Of course no such shortages materialized.
We already have effective drugs. The Hydroxychloroquine, Z-Pack and Zinc cocktail has been proven successful, IF it’s prescribed before damage has been done to the lungs.
You couldn’t pay me enough to take the Bill Gates Vaccine. The vaccine will be more dangerous than the virus itself.

Someone, somewhere read the rules that governors are in charge of responses to health emergencies.
The funny part is that very few people at The NY Times, Post, or Free Republic understand how this stuff works. They think Fauci, Birx, and Trump are running the show. That show ended a couple weeks ago. The new one is run locally.
The cocktail works to some extent, but it's not the magic bullet. We need the time to find the magic bullet.
