....[T]he conditions associated with much higher deaths from the bug, including obesity and hypertension, have long plagued blacks and Hispanics at elevated levels...Decades of national data show that African Americans are 20 percent are more likely to have asthma and 40 percent more likely to be hypertensive. And black women are three times more likely to have lupus...City and state leaders know that health behaviors in these communities need to change, Ruddock also notes but those leaders have never scaled up programs that could help do that.

All self inflicted diseases.
You guessed right.
Yes, it’s 100% the “pols” fault
Never an ounce of self reliance expected, which has racist undertones in and of itself Whether admissions, employment, health. No one is responsible for one’s own plight
I have a picture in my mind of a stereotypical cartoon virus with a coolie hat and buck teeth, and don’t forget the slanty eyes, following them around in a convenience store, infecting them if they shoplift or don’t buy something. ROFL idiots.
These people should try eating healthier, not chain smoking, and cleaning their hovels once in a while. Following commonsense rules and advise and behaving wouldn’t hurt, as would at least trying to refrain from shooting each other over ignorant BS. Live in squalor and eat crap, and you too can be at risk for the Beer Cold.
I don’t know that lupus is self inflicted. Asthma may be self inflicted in some cases.
I wonder what percentage of NYC black woman who are being treated for lupus with Hydroxychloroquine got sick from COVID-19.
I also wonder what the numbers are among white people under 65 who have gotten sick from COVID-19 and are obese, as well as the numbers of the over 65 population of all races who were obese for a number of years.
I think the New York Post is about to learn that it’s “racist” to even hint that minorities should lead healthier lifestyles.
When the food pyramid, AHA, ADA, big food, big pharma & the media all tell you that the way to eat “healthy” is to use inflammatory vegetable oils not saturated fats & red meats are bad for you, add plenty of inflammatory ‘whole’ grains, & eat 6 times a day which puts your blood sugar on a yo-yo, that is what people have been doing & still do. The result? Obesity epidemic & 88% of the population with at least one symptom of metabolic syndrome, and lots of people in the ‘unhealthy’ category of glycemic variability that results in a higher rates of serious course of COVID and a higher mortality rate.

Personal responsibility: YES; however people are being fed (no pun intended) lies about what is ‘healthy’ eating. Type 2 diabetes can be reversed, 90% of people can come off of insulin plus BP meds, etc. .... big pharma is totally invested in seeing insulin sales stay UP, not go down. Big food is totally invested in seeing sales of highly processed grain-based food that can be made cheaply staying up, not down. The media demonizes anyone who goes against the “accepted” narrative. This is the battleground - grassroots resistance is springing up - it will not come from top down.
So whose fault is that? It is the individuals who use their freedom to make stupid choices for their selves. Oh, well.
Throw that in for added effect. This has nothing to do with illness.. This is about the after effects. The only way liberals can get their unpopular agnedas through. ENOUGH.
genetic differences predisposing to certain conditions aren’t racist
and people being poor isnt racist either
not when they pissed away their school years goofing off and spending time on ‘fun’ things, and ripping those in their own community for studying because it was ‘acting white’
Why is it weve never heard about the racism of the flu?
No one considers that perhaps the minority groups don’t want to submit to white man’s rules of separation.
It is almost to the point where doing the opposite of what is recommended by the experts is advisable. Obesity has exploded ever since the elite decided to fight it. I still have people telling me that my low carb/high fat diet is going to catch up to me “one day” with clogged arteries and so forth. The brainwashing is pervasive. “Fat makes you fat” was so perfect for fooling people.
Lard vs. vegetable shortening. Look at the ingredients on the label. Lard has one ingredient. Spoiler: it’s “lard”.
Remember back before colonoscopies were commonplace? Americans allegedly had an average of 100,000 lbs of undigested red meat stuck in their colons (or some amount nearly that absurd). Then, most people over a certain age started getting a look up in there. Where was the red meat that was supposed to be stuck in my digestive system? None of the experts ever had to answer that question. They just moved on to their next lie.
Lupus isn’t self-inflicted. :(
But I agree with your sentiment, taking care of my Dad who has plenty of self-inflicted problems in his old age.
Gee, no mention of NYC’s housing issues, tenements, illegal multi-family dwellings, zoning and code enforcement issues that have turned a blind eye to living conditions that make steerage on the Titanic look spacious.
Note to the NYP: Nice try, though.
Liberty.
Even the liberty to eat yourself into diabetes.
Government is a blight.
I want a program for my obesity. Where’s my money?
If they're on Hydroxychloroquine, probably about 0%.
Italy found 20 COID-19 positives ... in 65,000 people taking HCQ for Lupus or Rheumatoid Arthritis.

"Out of 65,000 chronic patients (Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis), who systematically take Plaquenil / hydroxychloroquine, only 20 patients tested positive for the virus. Nobody died, nobody is in intensive care, according to the data collected so far."
