Shelby County State’s Attorney Gina Vonderheide Friday announced that her office has received inquiries regarding whether an individual wearing a mask while carrying a firearm would be prosecuted for the offense of Unlawful Use of Weapons.
The Illinois Criminal Code makes it a Class 4 felony for anyone to carry a weapon on his or her person while “masked in such a manner as to conceal his or her identity.”
Vonderheide said, "I want to emphasize that the circumstances of each case can vary. However, protecting our communities from Covid-19 certainly is important. The Shelby County State’s Attorney will not prosecute a citizen, otherwise acting in a lawful manner, who is carrying a weapon pursuant to a valid concealed carry permit, while masked to prevent the spread of Covid-19. My office would not attempt to penalize citizens who are lawfully exercising their Second Amendment right while, at the same time, observing health and safety measures.

No of course not.
No lawful citizen carrying a gun has ever been harassed by a DA’s office. Anywhere in this country. They hold ‘the citizens’ rights in such high regard.
I have ordered iron man, hulk, mandalorian, dead pool, darts Vader masks. I’m going all in on the mask requirements. Let you know how it works.

LOL! I know quite a few people who carry while wearing masks. They don’t do drugs or look like career criminals, though.
The unstated purposes of “mandatory masking”:
1) Dog-whistle obedience training. Easy to see who is “compliant” and who needs “re-education”
2) Darn near impossible to wear a mask with a runny nose...so it will force the sick to STAY HOME (which they ought to do anyway, but without government orders)

Seems to speak to intent. Wearing a mask to prevent getting/spreading the virus is not the same as an attempt to conceal your identity.
