its going to do what its going to do regardless. We got the curve to flatten long enough to prepare. That’s all we can do. Now we just have to sit back and hope for the best.
exactly...a virus is as virus....
Let’s see. We are averaging 30,000 new cases per day with 2,000 deaths. We will get over 100,000 dead by Memorial Day. Then possibly 250,000 by Labor Day if it continues to plateau.
People are out of work and in despair and we are already hearing of people thinking of ending it all. Those fatalities will pale in contrast to the few remaining COVID19 fatalities from reduced social distancing.
This should be the mantra: open up businesses to flatten the suicide curve. Not only is that a true problem we need to tackle, it puts the haters of Commerce and fellow citizens' plight (read: libs) on the defensive.

"So, you like to see suicide numbers rising?"

“its going to do what its going to do regardless. “

That’s just it. we went into this in an effort to slow it all down. Now we just have to go through it.
People thinking we are going to avoid it are wrong, avoiding it was never the real plan.
As long as they keep counting every death as CV it will reach whatever count for they want it to.
True ... we can — and did “flatten the infection curve” (the previous justification for the lockdown ... but what we cannot do is change the area under the infection curve ... we can only lengthen the time along the x-axis.
