WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump signed an executive order on May 1 that seeks to protect the U.S. electricity system from cyber and other attacks in a move that could eventually put barriers on some imports from China and Russia....
The order allows the energy secretary, in consultation with other officials, to prohibit acquisition, importation, transfer or installation of power equipment from an adversary that they determine poses a risk of sabotage to the U.S. power system.
Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette said in a news release. The order will “greatly diminish the ability of foreign adversaries to target our critical electric infrastructure,” he said.
The order defines bulk power equipment as items used in substations, control rooms, or power plants, including nuclear reactors, capacitors, transformers, large generators and backup generators and other equipment.
The power system not only delivers electricity to homes and businesses, but supports the military and emergency systems.
The Energy Department said that government rules about buying equipment for the power grid “often result in contracts being awarded to the lowest-cost bids, a vulnerability that can be exploited by those with malicious intent.”

Great to see this...but 3 years too late.
Should be a huge part of an infrastructure bill. Much of the grid is past its design life and without electricity we’re back to fire and muscle power. As critical to have control of this supply chain as it is for food and drugs.

It’s a shame that half of America lacks the wit to understand what a Great American Hero we now have in the White House. What miracles President Trump would work for the American People if the angry, hate-filled, power-hungry obstructionists would get out of the way. He’s doing a great job as it is!

Power isn’t just electric lights & air conditioning— both non-essential.
Without power, you can’t get your money out of an ATM, gas out of the pump, or water out of the faucet.
Now we need to harden the electrical distribution system against EMP. Get to it!

Cuomo wants to pursue more "green" projects, like the factory he built for Tesla in Buffalo that cost taxpayers $959 million dollars, and only created 750 jobs. An audit of the building done last fall found it is only worth a mere $75 million dollars, or just 8% of what the state put into the RiverBend factory.
The President of the construction company, along with the head of the State-affiliated development corporation were convicted of bid-rigging charges for their roles in awarding the contract to develop the facility to house Tesla’s solar panel manufacturing facility. And in another failed project in Syracuse that Cuomo spent $15 million dollars on, his top aide Joseph Percoco, whom he has known for many years, and called "his brother," was convicted with others of taking bribes and wire fraud. The building Cuomo built with our money, sold for a dollar.
So it's on to the next green development projects, laced with crime and corruption so Cuomo can line the pockets of his cronies and big donors. And nothing will ever happen to the bastard.
So you think Trump owes you an apology for not meeting your expectations of when and how things are accompished?
I know a lot of the Executive orders Trump wants to make law and why it’s so important to keep the Senate and win back the House.
I’ll be voting for Trump.....and to get the House back so these things he’s done via Executive Order can be made into Law!..which is what he wants to do.
