EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 20-24
EXTENDING THE COVID-19 DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY (EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 20-03) FOR AN ADDITIONAL 60 DAYS, THROUGH JULY 6, 2020
Executive Order 20-03, declaring a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Oregon, was issued on March 8, 2020, and declared a statewide emergency for 60 days, through May 7, 2020.
Pursuant to ORS 401.165 and ORS 401.204, I find that the novel infectious coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to threaten public health and safety, and remains a statewide emergency under ORS 401.025. Accordingly, I am extending the state of emergency for an additional 60 days, through July 6, 2020. Executive Order 20-03 shall remain in effect through July 6, 2020, unless extended or terminated earlier by the Governor.

It doesn’t make any sense from any rational standpoint. Even if they were following the science - current trends are end of Now or end of May for even areas with minor outbreaks and mid June for larger ones - NY isn’t even saying they’ll be closed that long!
This points to a purely political maneuver and the Federal Government shouldn’t pay them a dime in assistance for it.
I did a quick search on the number of cases in Oregon, and found several articles referencing the peak and or declining cases from about 8 to 10 days prior. So they had their peak and are seeing fewer cases but the power-hungry governor just extended they are overreaching actions another 60 days.

Looks like Testing, and Contact tracing is what Oregon is doing. They are in the Western States pact

Very good point, even in places like New York with something like half the cases in the country or are we talking about plans and how to re-open it here in a state with a tiny fraction of cases in currently decreasing, they are talking about another 60 days. I don’t think there is any rational science or logical explanation to be had, other than control over the population.

Yep, it’s VERY easy to believe.
It’s deliberate and vindictive. July 6 is a Monday, after what would normally be a long and very busy holiday weekend. The only reason to extend a shut down order that long, is as an exercise of power. I’d appreciate a single so-called journalist questioning these governors and demanding to inspect the “science” behind these edicts.

July 6th, with zero provable reason to do so. Unless they are too stupid to breathe (and I am not discounting this) they are daring the citizens of Oregon to challenge them to rise up in rebellion at this point.
