President Trump on Friday signed an executive order prohibiting bulk power system equipment from foreign companies that his administration believes could put the U.S. electricity system at risk.
The Executive Order on Securing the United States Bulk Power System authorizes Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette to prohibit federal agencies and U.S. entities from acquiring, transferring or installing bulk power system equipment in which any foreign country or foreign nation has any interest and the transaction poses an unacceptable risk to national security.
The order does not single out any country but many have interpreted the new rule o imply that equipment from China could be prohibited. The Trump Administration and China have been locked in a multi-year trade battle over tariffs and intellectual property rights, among other issues.
Today, President Trump demonstrated bold leadership to protect Americas bulk-power system and ensure the safety and prosperity of all Americans, said Secretary Brouillette. It is imperative the bulk-power system be secured against exploitation and attacks by foreign threats. This Executive Order will greatly diminish the ability of foreign adversaries to target our critical electric infrastructure.

Now harden them against EMPs
How about that!!
Good idea, but it would make more sense if we were able to manufacture our own transformers.
That would be good.
I think though that the country or the country where said attackers came from would be glass after doing that to us.
Thank God for that.
Doing whatever to the mainland ain’t gonna stop the nukes on the subs.
Thank you sir!
Its a two part requirement, but yes, so presumably both parts would have to be in question, but yes, we should do that
Riddle me this Batman.
Why did two squadrons of F-35s just take off from Like Air Force Base?
Why did two squadrons of F-35s just take off from Like Air Force Base?
Are they doing the flyover’s for first responders? I know New Orleans enjoyed one today.

This - although I think this order may do that? There are many of us here on FR who have said this for many years!
>Doing whatever to the mainland aint gonna stop the nukes on the subs.
Yeah, and frankly, the only time it was really observed was during MASSIVE bombs like Bikini and Tsarbomba, and there’s never been a bomb detonated in the upper atmosphere as of yet.
If the electron cascade doesn’t happen or is impeded by existing atmosphere on the way down, whoever shot the EMP is going to be in for a rude surprise.
Sorry. I just searched on this title and it didnt come up.
Good! Now if only the President would zero out the H1B programs use to bring foreign IT workers into the US.
Definitely not flyovers and not scheduled. My eyes on the ground and contact has confirmed this fact.
Yeah that would be really bad for them :)
It’s like shooting first in a duel and missing :)
22 F-35s took off not too long ago.
Yes, yes yes.
Thankfully Mark Levin took up this vital topic, too.
I read through some hearing committee prints of experts advising Congress about EMP effects on our power grid. Really bad stuff.
Within a few days or weeks there would be more cannibalism than eating from garbage dumpsters. And no heat for millions dying in the winter. And no toilets anywhere flushing. Or fresh water coming into pipe systems. No gas or diesel for cars or semis for deliveries. Out of food. No insulin or other Rx items despite daily need. We'd be like Africa and Arab poor people but worse without knowledge of living in huts.
While tossing around trillions they should have also spent much less on total hardening of our system.
Search individual words from a title, not the whole title as different news outlets use different titles. I made duplicate posts until I started doing that.
I would think that would be the goal. US heavy industry has a hard time competing against chinese/Asian slave labor.
